Obviously a really intelligent bloke, who is modernising the club to the best of his abilities. Since he joined we seem to be moving in a positive direction. Injuries are being managed, due to the depth in squad, which he is accountable for 👏👏
| Nourry on 00:50 - Oct 25 with 1548 views | numptydumpty | The guy gets little credit from several on here, but as said midweek, we win and his name is never mentioned. We lose and somehow he totally gets pelters. I find it all very strange. Was a great line up at half time. Nourry was there with Clarke Carlisle, Mark Lazurus's son and Gerry Francis too to give Andy Sinton thanks for being an incredible ambassador for the club. A nice touch too. Said midweek, three years ago, we were watching Ainsworth's team playing awful football, losing ten and more home games in the season miraculously survive relegation when facing total oblivion with an ageing squad. Yes there is always the concerns over injuries and currently we have many and yet today we totally annhilated the league leaders. And what is encouraging we now have one of the youngest squads in the championship. The appointments of Cifuentes and now Stephan have both been successes, particularly after the previous three of Beale, Critchley and Ainsworth. A lot has been made of his age and lack of previous experience, but again you can't really complain about a definite upward trajectory in most areas of the club. Even the communication with the fans has been addressed too. Definitely learning from mistakes quickly. If somehow, we get less injuries also, then there are really zero reasons for frustrations. Clearly a very intelligent man with a belief in himself, but saying all this, we lose five nil at Southampton, there will be countless comments on here about all that is wrong with the man. Its a shame really that a lot of the fanbase are yet to warm to him and a lot never will. Yes, personality wise, he is not one of us and think that could be the issue for a few. And he has helped with excellent recruitment in all areas of the club, made some tough choices like letting go club favourite Paul Furlong go and not appointing a club legend in Charlie Austin for a youth coaching role. No room for sentiment. All decisions for the long term future of the club. If I ever hear Christian Nourrys name sung in the Loft, then blooming heck, that would be a total shock. But he deserves credit absolutely. [Post edited 25 Oct 0:57]

So, credit is due. Would still like him to come across as a bit more 'fancentric' if you know what I mean. And if by dint of some miracle we got promoted, I'd also hope he wouldn't go all, premiership tourist on us. But like many who criticised him, his methods, thus far, have yielded football that's exciting to watch despite many hurdles we have to overcome to achieve it. Well done young man! | Nourry on 08:17 - Oct 25 with 1031 views | OakR | He made mistakes when he first came. Some bad signings and not great communication with supporters. He has balls of steel to get through all the vitriol thrown at him last season, especially considering his young age. Since then he's got better at some communication (if not to the level some want) but the last fans forum I thought he was good. We've signed JS and made many good signings, the squad is clearly better ability wise but more importantly we have many more of the 'right sort'. We are going the right way, he is not being discussed much which means he is doign a good job. Some will never like him no matter what he does, and if we lose 4 in a row the knives will be out again but the club feels much better now. Still sad Furlong left, and some things like that are harder to understand. Overall though, doing really well and also learning from his past mistakes.

| Nourry on 08:32 - Oct 25 with 974 views | London_Pride | To state the obvious, Nourry is no more responsible for the 5-0 against Swansea than the 0-3 against Birmingham. His role is to set the strategy and oversee all areas of the club operations, not the team performance in individual games. As such there are areas that he has done well but other areas not so good. In particular, the situation with regard to player injuries/ fitness is one that he needs to address quickly or it will totally derail the overall strategy. The criticisms that have been made on the message board last week are no less valid because of Saturday’s result. | | | |

I think thats being slightly disingenuous. Yes, theres areas of the club that needs improvement, injuries are a problem, communication is still an issue. But player and manager recruitment has improved. If you cant give props to the guy who made those player purchases after a 5- nil win, when can you? I know its still early in the season and as we all know from previous campaigns, it can unravel very quickly. But that team out there yesterday are playing out of their skins, playing for each other, real strong characters and deserve all the plaudits. Maybe I have gone a bit early with giving some credit to Nourry, but if we lost yesterday we would all be quick to criticise him and vocalise our concerns.

The state of the sports science side is well documented and his loyalty to his mate is highly questionable there. However, I’ve been on the record for giving him credit in removing the culture of mediocrity that used to pervade at the club. The shake up well overdue at youth and development levels that had a losing culture for ages; I still Don’t get the Furlong departure as he actually delivered. This is his third season and it’s judgement time now. Let’s see where we end up but so far so good for him, us and the club

This year's squad, even with the injuries, is the best we've had in ages. That is largely down to Nourry. When you think he's managed to bring in players like Burrell, Kone, Lamptey, Cirkin, Varane, Charles, Vale, Poku, Kamara, Kemper, Dembele etc, some of who we got because of their injury history, so a physical and financial gamble in some cases, the squad is much much better than it was.

I think Nourry needs to be given credit for seemingly allowing the recruitment lead recruitment and be data led . Ratther than the manager signed him , DOF signed him and recruitment team signed him which was present in the last regime. We now need to sell some of these players and how Nourry deals with the inevitable twitter backlash will be interesting as another failure of previous regimes was trying to be popular rather than what was best for the club

Its the first time, it has happened. And half the responses in this thread are begrudgingly thankful or impressed by whats happened. Some people wont ever like him, even if we got to the premier league and stayed there. They would still not be in support of him. And mainly because they dont really like him as a person rather than they dont like the processes he uses and how he operates to get results. Its clearly obvious to me. And some people on here who think like this, some have said this also. They will say the jury is still out as nothing has changed or improved as yet. But if they are honest, any success he achieves will hit this narrative because they would rather someone else was in his job. He wouldn't be in my group of friends, but if he is getting the results, then for me that matters not a jot. Couldn't care less if he is in my friendship circle. Doing an excellent job for me and also learning from the mistakes along the way. To stick to your beliefs when you get criticism from aÄşl quarters, takes the possession of a Rhino's skin, which most do not have the abilities to not be affected from the abuse. Well done to him I say. [Post edited 25 Oct 12:03]
