| The Sunderland away kit! on 23:17 - Oct 31 with 1895 views | TwoHalves | Oh, that’s easy. It represents the ‘iconic pink and black colourway associated with Elvis Presley’s breakthrough years on the Louisiana Hayride’. Obvious, innit. Edit: For clarification (sort of), it’s something to do with Sunderland fans’ matchday anthem Can’t Help Falling In Love. On that basis, shouldn’t our next kit feature a ‘silver lining’? I actually bought the black kit this season. i would wear this for away games and we seem to have had good results in it, but the lilac is just wrong for me. If you want to intimidate, mean black or lightweight light purple !!!! [Post edited 1 Nov 5:49]

I agree and don’t understand why it was worn st Southampton rather than the home kit. They wore red and white stripes either black shorts and socks, none of which clash with Blue and white hoops, with white shorts and socks.

Yes, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bill Wyman and even George Harrison have had noncey connotations in their past. Not sure where the bar is anymore to get someone cancelled. Is it OK if you marry them, I dunno? Most superstars are horrible people when you get into it. One of my favourite stories of this was about Eric Clapton. A famous car lover Eric was coming back from a tour and Patti Boyd picked him up from the airport in a brand new Ferrari that was delivered while he was away. When they got home Eric sold the car, as he was upset he wasn't the first person to drive it. This is the level of arsehole of an average superstar

The only way it makes sense (ahem) is if our Errea contract stipulates we have to wear the change kits a certain number of times.

Rwminds me of a story I heard about Jason McAteer that while ridiculous, arguably paints him in a favourable light. JM was one of the first people to get a Porsche Boxster in the north west. First Sunday, he drives out to see his mates' team play, which he always did without fail, when not playing himself. After the game he'd take their kit and flags back to Liverpool to clean but on this particular Sunday, he couldn't get them into the Porsche. Two weeks later, he rocks up in a new 4x4. When asked what had happened to the Porsche, he purportedly replied, 'I couldn't get the kit and flags in to it, so I thought I'd buy this!'

I thought we submit our kit choice to the referee and he either confirms it or asks for it to be changed? I might be wrong, would be good to know the official process!

Unless you are Sir Alex and you're losing I'm not sure you can change the kits once the ref has signed off

Bill Wyman was with Mandy Smith when she was 13 and I remember at the time it was sensationalised in the national papers as Bill Wyman being a bit of a lad. Very rock and roll. Nothing was deemed weird about it, I seem to remember. How fricking psycho was that. Sometimes, times do, on the odd occasions, change for the better. But football clubs wearing lilac or pink salmon kits - The computer says no ! [Post edited 2 Nov 22:37]

I would disagree re Wyman. My recollection was that many in the media and members of the public, thought he should be jailed.

Its also $94 before tax might have to pass on that one . I did really enjoy the Netflix series when they were free falling through the leagues I am wondering if there is another one for their climb back up its pretty impressive to be fair
