if we are looking for someone to build for the future is young and has prem experince what about Martinez ?? , year in year out the bloke works miracles at wigan whilst playing good football, he also buys good young players with sell on values,

Martinez has turned down Villa and Liverpool.

if we do change I'd have Holloway back, loads of pride and passion, an attacking style of play and he would be desperate to come back, i'd have gone for him in January rather than Hughes.

No doubt though it will be a big name, Benitiez or Redknapp probably

If it is Benitez it would again feel like an awkward fit for QPR.

Yes it would be nice to have a manager that actually wants to be here for a change.

Are you referring to Ian "I've done Eastenders, now I'm playing King Lear" Holloway??

The thing with Benitez is that his record at Liverpool was actually pretty good despite the fact he bought a load of dross.

He'd never want to come to us though.

spent a fortune and left them with an awful team, if AC milan could take penalties he'd have been sacked by Liverpool long before he finally was

We want a settled team and Rafa is in the frame Mr. Tinkerman himself. Redknap should never be allowed near another football club but even if he did it is only going to be a short term appointment with a load more spending in January.
For me there is only one name mentioned that I would like and that is Martinez but unlikely to come here.

you know it will be though Clive, not a chance we'll go for a proper manager it will all be about the name, has been the case at QPR for a long time.

Got them their best league finishes for a decade and won them the European Cup. Came very close to winning the league too. Plus bought some excellent players like Alonso.

Seemed to treat money like water though and wasted a fortune on players like Aquilani.

Obviously he'd be terrible for us even if he did come as we've not got the money, but I don't think he's as bad as everyone makes out.

As I started this ridiculous thread I thought I'd actually contribute to it.

I started it cos I was so fecked orf with all the crud being talked about sacking Hughes, I started this as a bit of a wind up, naming the likes of Peter Reid, Gary Megson and Bryan Robson as (outrageous) options (not to mention Neil SI....sorry Neil!) to highlight the calibre of manager that is out there. We should be careful what we wish for. As I've stated on another thread if Rafa Benitez became manager of my club I'd suspend my interest in football until he was sacked.

I am steadfastly behind Hughes and TF and believe that it'll all be alright on the night. We need stability, long term. Results will come with time.

I do wish, however, that he wouldn't play SWP.

Add me to the "Benitez must go" list!!
Couldn't stand the bloke and served up boring pile of sh*te football.

C'mon Hughes and sort it out so we can all laugh about our "slow start" as we finish comfy midtable with added FA Cup run of at least 2x games..

Would have been brilliant if all those "managers" hadn't interfered

I've found a team sheet for the weekend - anyone interested ?

Years ago rangers always appointed from within or individuals with strong links to the club. As we were sh*t for so long we have a lack of stand out candidates, hence we now often pick awkward fits. I want Hughes to stay, I think his reputation in the game has helped with the signings we've made. If he does go, I'd be tempted to get someone from abroad to replace him, someone not tainted by links to other English teams.

This is a pretty terrifying list.

if we're being serious about it then with the players we have who want to get the ball down and play you have to go with a manager who buys into that and avoid needing a new philosophy and new players in january so Roberto Martinez would be the best option imo, also leaves a legacy at football clubs which is badly needed at QPR.
