When one of these experts can explain why England used to be hot enough to sustain huge vineyards but cooled down significantly in the following 1000 years I might listen, or maybe the circle has gone a full 360 degrees and its adjusting back to what it was before.

Actually the methods used in the paper are incredibly conservative by design - if anything they've massively *underestimated* the increase in rate of extinctions.
