Interesting interview with Clint on the offish about the first few days of training with JFH. Talked about the new manager wanting the team to be really fit, something I am sure that we all agree has been lacking so far this season, that he wants us to be a pressing team, certainly something I would like to see and that a few players have already been pulled up in training for a perceived lack of effort. I wonder who these could be?

Comes across as a pretty smooth operator to be fair.

Got a definite feeling that Fer and JFH aren't going to get on - the Dutch are great at falling out with each other, and an expensive languid type who blows hot and cold doesn't sound like a JFH type of player

I could very well be wrong but my impression is that Fer is one of those players who supporters and managers have quite different opinions of with regards the effort he puts in, because of the impression supporters get from the way he moves--as in he looks like he's doing less work than he actually is. He is just bloody lazy. Frustrates the hell out of me. He wanders around the pitch close to the action but never getting involved unless the ball comes his way. On top of that his ball control at times is appalling. Hopefully JFH will give him a rocket. | |

Fer has to be one of the laziest players UI;ve ever seen, wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt last season but watching him he never runs off the ball and walks for most of the match. I don;t think he's any good either, back to back relegation's and quite rare for him to play well two games in a row. Even in the championship he hasn't looked any good | | | |

In all seriousness, when it comes to the pressing game and what players do when they don't have the ball, Big Ron nailed it and what he said should be on a sign above the entrance to the tunnel at LR: "The opposition can't stop you running".
