Comes across like the Joey Barton of speed skating. A career in broadcasting no doubt beckons.
Talking of broadcasting, half hour after the event, quarter finalists sorted, along comes Clare Balding...'Tell me John, does she have the right of appeal?' !!!
Obviously in sport, as in life, there are occasions where bad luck can play a part, but generally you make your own luck and that seems to be the case with this woman, nobody can be that "unlucky".

I don't think I can take any more of her shit.
Being British she should automatically be reinstated, obviously.
I do feel really bad for her but I'm glad this sorry saga of expectation, hype and inevitable pain is finally over. It got built up into an inspiring story of redemption but the reality seemed to be that she wasn't in good enough form to follow up the script. She took out that Chinese girl completely on Saturday trying to live up to it all. No idea what happened today.
On a more cheerful note, what a great day for the sport of curling - a drugs scandal at last. All practitioners of shove ha'penny-on-ice can walk around with their heads held high, as true Olympians.
Yes that was a very good play, dropped in casually as a throwaway aside. Thats the way to do it
Indeed. Not only did he name- drop the aforementioned Wendy Sly, but he also slipped in the fact that he ran for the same athletic club.Left me wondering whether he was of a standard similar to Ms Sly. Superb.

Lol. I'm still trying to work out what drugs you'd take to make you a better Curler. I can think of quite a few that would make it more interesting to watch though.

I've got a lot to learn. Even more so when I tell you that I hadn't even realised who she was. We got friendly with her and her husband as our sons went to the same school. We went round their house one night and when I went to the loo, there was the Olympic silver on the wall which was a bit surreal.
am I the only one who clicked on this thread and thought we were after a new striker ?
