The word Bovril is a hybrid neoligism. Bov from Bovine and Ril from a contemporary best selling science-fiction novel about Martians invading the Earth. A precursor to HG Wells War of the Worlds. Or maybe an after-cursor. They could’ve been from Venus to be honest. Or Neptune. They were definitely from another planet. Ril was some kind of energy or life-force that was essential to the alien’s existence. A bit like Spice in the the Frank Herbert Dune novels. Or was it Uranus? Makes sense that Bovril was named after something that came out of Uranus.

I love Bovril but that sounds like an acquired taste.
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."
