Backward is definitely the word.
They did it with John Terry as well - found him guilty of calling Ferdinand a 'fcking black cnt', banned him for four matches, but went out of their way to say "oh but he's definitely not a racist". It's like being called a racist is worse than actually saying the racist stuff in the first place. Like when ministers lie in parliament and nothing happens, but as soon as somebody says "you're a liar" all hell breaks loose - what's the bigger crime here? | | | |

When you look at the punishments on the website, that 4 games was ludicrous.
"One off" racist remarks are usually punished by 6 - 8 match bans from the cases I have looked at & those are all low level cases if you like, ie not from the top 5 leagues. | | | |
