Injuries - when will they realistically back? 08:37 - Feb 19 with 1623 viewsHammersmithR

We need another 10 points or so from somewhere.

1. Balogun?
2. Clarke-Salter?
3. Amos?
4. Johansen? Why’s he in the squad if he’s not starting as our captain.
5. Laird?
6. Roberts?
7. Richards?
8. Dykes?
9. Willock

Have I missed anyone else? Nearly a whole team. Looking at that list 6 or 7 of them had injuries at their previous clubs. Makes you wonder why we signed them. Either way we need them back and available.

Armstrong he's definitely a good impact sub, we need one of Glass Salter or Balogun fit so that Critchley doesn't have an excuse to try 3 at the back....

I think we will be lucky to get 3 points - from 3 draws - between now and the end of the season.

Can't see we will get many games at all from your sick list.

Maybe Johansen will play half a dozen half matches - as long as he stays 'fit'. Laird and Roberts we might get 3 or 4 matches each but only if its at home and the sun is shining

Balogun - never, as they say in Malasia " Finish already"
Clark - Salter - unlikely and hopefully off loaded in the summer
Amos - unlikley and Adios at the end of the season
Richards - nothing until next season
Dykes- maybe back by Easter and new contract in the summer
Willock - nothing until next season and again new contract in the summer

I don't think we've got a specified return date for any of them.

Balogun - a calf injury, is a 'who knows?'.
Clarke-Salter - either a calf or a hamstring or maybe both, is a 'who knows?'.
Amos - hamstring, played in a B team game 2 weeks ago but hasn't been selected since.
Johansen - told us he was fit and ready to go after recovering from a heel injury 4 weeks ago but sits unused on the bench.
Laird - hamstring, it's not supposed to be serious but no return date given.
Roberts - 'not quite right', is another 'who knows?'.
Richards - 'not quite right', has been a mystery ever since he arrived.
Dykes - pneumonia, wants to return asap but I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see him again this season
Willock - hamstring, but not the same as the one operated on last year. No return date given.

So there you are, 9 players out and no idea when any of them will return to first team action. Maybe the club should think again about signing players with injury issues, however good they might be when occasionally fit.

For at least 3 or 4 on that list the answer seems to be "when they can be fcuked'.

Noticed Critchley in the post match saying he needs some of the injured players to raise their hand and stand up and be counted - you can't give much more of a hint than that I think.

I know there are probably fairly straightforward legal reasons against this, but it's at a point now where if the medical team have no reason to feel a player can't play, but he's still crying off, we should stop paying him. I doubt it would have much impact but just on principle.

More to the point (and as the tone of your post clearly implies), maybe the club should think about why it fails to communicate with any conviction or clarity about any of these sick notes. It really makes one wonder what else is going on behind the scenes. As I've highlighted, Critchley has been maddeningly shoulder-shrugging and invariably short on details and specifics when pressed on WLS exactly what these injuries are. While these questions need to be asked and answered, they never really are. Roberts, we were told, was a possible for the Sunderland game, and then we don't see even see him at the next one, and that's just one instance. If Jojo is finally fit, and given how we've been told how good it is to have him back, why isn't he being picked? Why aren't the coaches being challenged for the shocking lack of professionalism with the lack of warm-up for Willock that presumably ushered in his latest strain? The manager always seems to be telling us we're 'hopeful' about this or that player returning, almost as if they're doing us a favour by doing their job, or that we're waiting for yet another scan result, and, I don't know about everyone else, it all feels so f*cking lukewarm, fatalistic, under-cooked and sloveny, epitomised by the physical catastrophe that is Taylor Richards, as he walks in the shadow of death. (While we're there, are we now just writing off his season?)

In short, it's all beyond me, but it's infuriating, dispiriting and so, so, amateurishly, half-arsedly QPR! We might well be cursed, but, for a supposedly professional club, we're also rubbish at rehabilitating anyone it seems (or bombing anyone out).

I think a lot of them picked up a highly contagious bone complaint. Can't remember what it's called… oh yes, “idle”
