It's not at all bad and I think the top 5 could be rearranged in any order. They're all brilliant.
I don't think Sly is acknowledged nearly enough. His early work helped lay the foundations for funk and pointed in the direction that bands like Parliament, Funkadelic, and Earth Wind and Fire would go.

My tuppence worth on Sly, (one of my all time heroes) We booked him for Lovebox Festival, a few years ago now. His entourage came and sound checked, minus the great man, This is pretty standard fayre with some of the big stars, so we thought nothing of it. He was really excited about being in London and playing a show after so many years. Early evening we began to get a bit concerned.... no one could find him and he wasn't answering his mobile that his management had set up for him. The band arrived and still no sign of Sly... Stage time comes and the band decide to start playing some instrumentals, because the great man is still absent.... Finally we get the news he's been sighted.... he's lost in Harrod's with his wife.... He eventually turns up on site... literally has enough time to do two songs before we have curfew.... FFS The man is a legend... it was difficult to get angry with the situation but FFS....... Ironically, we had very few requests for refunds.... Pretty stressful evening if I'm honest...

He’s more of a live act essentially which probably explains the lack of recognition. 5 singles only in the UK Top 40 (1 in top 10) and only 1 album in the Top 40. Think he had more success in the US though. He doesn’t strike me as being all that marketable (horrible word).
Brilliant though.
Ba pa-pa-pa ba pa-pa ba ba ba pa-pa ba pa-pa ba pa-pa ba ba ba
The Guardian are very keen on those kind of articles ranking the top 20 songs by someone. I'm sure they only run them on their website so people will share them saying "What a load of rubbish, what about this song & that song? What idiot wrote this list?"
So in that spirit I'd just like to say there's no You Caught Me Smilin' or In Time on that list, therefore what a load of rubbish, what idiot wrote that list etc etc etc
