We used to drink in the Wallace Head, round the corner from the globe, a chelsea pub.
Just googled it, and it's gone.
Now I'm having a bad day.

The Barley Mow, Dorset Street might be a good place to start. Old school Free House from memory. Or the Devonshire Arms, Duke Street. Haven’t drunk in that area since the Play-Off Final!
Edit: Just remembered driving past the Globe pub on the Marylebone Road (opposite Baker Street station) many years ago in the cab. Ch*lsea must’ve been playing in the Cup Final or something because hundreds of their fans were gathered there, spilling out onto the pavement and bus lane. It was horrible.
Anyway, my passenger’s nearside window was open and a stick of celery came flying through, landing on his lap. It was a very difficult thing to explain. [Post edited 26 Jun 21:13]

The Royal Oak. Head west from the station(right turn), walk past Marylebone Sta(I know you can't see it but it's signed), about the third left.
Incredibly, there are still 'working class types' frequenting the establishment.

I quite like Baker Street (the place) and any time I walk down it that song is in my mind.
One of the worst streets for a decent pub in London that I can think of, though, leaving aside sh*tholes that you wouldn't want to hang around in anyway.
(One stop on the tube gets you to Gt Portland Street station, from which a brief walk up Albany Street gets you The Queen's Head And Artichoke, which is lovely.) | | | |

Going back a bit to when lunch came in a glass with froth on, my colleagues and I frequented the Duke of Wellington on Crawford Street. Other regulars of the time included none other than Dennis Compton and George Best!
When I was leaving London/the UK for good, I took a day of visiting old haunts, and wandered by the DoW. Think it'll hold up Brian.
