What I watched of it was absolutely obscene. 111.5 average in the final and 111 for the tournament overall. 19-years-old and he’s won 13 major titles. Appreciate darts isn’t for everyone and some wouldn’t consider it a sport but if you do, I can’t think of anyone in anything who has dominated any sport so much so young. It’ll get to the point where the PDC has a bit of a problem if people are turned off by him not just winning everything but battering every opponent along the way. |  | | |

Those numbers are outrageous.
The fact he has that quality is as you say obscene.
But also dealing with the crowds and the ups and downs and not let it alter his game mode focus at his age is far from normal.
Regards it turning off people from the game, it never did when Phil Taylor dominated for a couple of decades. And Phil Taylor wasn't for many an easy hero to like. [Post edited 26 Jul 23:16]

I think it's the opposite, he's an absolute star and has brought new people to the sport. Every single match he plays in is now an event (as with Taylor) as the fascination is what ridiculous feat is he going to do next or is someone going to beat him?
He's obviously a genius at darts, the others can throw as well as him but what I have never seen from anyone else is his ability to throw ridiculous checkouts when he is struggling in a match. He hasn't needed to do that this tournament, but he did earlier in the year - never seen anything like it. A crucial leg going against him, he hasn't hit a treble in the last few visits, then suddenly he pops a huge one.

I couldn’t understand the crowd singing “sky tv is fùcking shit” totally understand us footie fans singing it due to all the crappy fixture changes but before sky got involved darts had virtually died a death. | |
