Good player, not much more than that. As usual with good English players we blow them up to be far better than they actually are. Often thought he topped his stats up Theo Walcott style with a nice four goal haul (two penalties and a deflected free kick) when Chelsea were dicking on Stoke 7-0 and stuff like that.

I was listening to Chris Kirkland doing commentary on off the ball the other night from anfield before their Chelsea match. Very interesting guy. Scholes was head and shoulders above all of them.
Comes back to that old thing about team over individuals. We pissd around because we didn't think we could possibly not pick Lampard and Gerrard together (even though it never worked) and as we had to have Scholes as well we stuck him left wing. Actually if you'd put Scholes in there next to a proper defensive central midfielder (probably a lesser name and less talented player than Gerrard and Lampard but a specialist in that position) giving Scholes licence to go on and hurt teams we'd have done a lot better.

274 goals in 913 appearances is outstanding for a midfielder at top level. Re the sex tape, Ferdinand and Dyer also took part in that, so 2-1 to the Rs there! Re walking out on his wife and kids there was a lot more to that and he did end up with Christine Bleakley, so, you know... I think my girlfriend would pay me to f*ck off with Christine Bleakley sometimes and I would take her up on it.
Scholes - 155 goals in 718 appearances. Also good, and probably a more consistent player with less goals per game ratio. Scholes was a better professional, although now he just calls everyone a c*nt and thinks everything is sh*t. And he doesn't get to shag Christine Bleakley, so, much as I hate Chelsea, I think Frank wins. | |

Sorry, ...and Scholes sulked off after five games and refused to play for England again. If there's doubt over his status, its the fault of Scholes, not Lampard.
