More unmarvelous news. Unbelievable boxer who achieved so much and quite obviously, as has been mentioned, 66 is way too young. You just assume these guys will spend a lot more time with us.

I've got the Power.

Fantastic fight. One of those rare occasions where the reality exceeded the pre-bout hype.

The first round was the most exciting round of boxing I’ve ever seen. I absolutely loved watching Hagler, Hearns, Leonard and Duran compete in and around the middleweight division during the 80s - a golden era of boxing.

RIP Marvelous Marvin. Thanks for the memories.

One of the kings of the golden age. Apparently he became an action film star in Italy after he retired, I’d love to see one.

I wonder how Tommy Hearns is these days, far too brave for his own good.

Tommy Hearns against Dennis Andries was one of the most brutal one-sided beatings I have ever seen, but Andries wouldn't quit until the ref stopped it in the 10th. And Andries fought another 28 times. He's either got a head made of concrete or everything inside it is destroyed.

Poor Tommy too, 67 fights and barely a grand left for each one.

Tax problems but...he did the right thing, paid his bills. He may not be ‘rich’ but he does ok, family have (well before Covid), a decent business, believe he’s always busy.

Once had a good long chat with Dennis Andries at Crystal Palace Sports Centre back in the mid 80s. Well, he thought I was someone else but I carried on in the role regardless as I was with a new girlfriend at then time who was suitably impressed!

At the same place but a few years earlier, I was at the railway station where I observed a young Daley Thompson cavorting with Mary Stewart.
