Of the 3 giants in that group Germany are the most beatable but obviously very dangerous. I thought France and Portugal looked really impressive

Yup we can either just capitulate like we usually do to them or actually go and beat them because whatever they do against us, underneath it all they are bang average at the moment. If we don't beat them we are less than bang average. If we actually go and play like we can we can and should beat them... For once.

Steady on, it’s not like we never beat them in tournaments…5-1 in Munich, 1-0 in Euro 2000 (only highlight of that disaster). Two of the last four competitive games, we hardly ever play them. I’m more pleased we’ve dodged Portugal and France.

Just been on Wiki, the first 6 games finished an aggregate 63-5 to England before the Germans managed a draw. The good old days.
