Sam Field 09:55 - Apr 19 with 3311 viewsterryb

I might be wrong, but wasn't that Field's 14th caution yesterday? I think that one more from the remaining three games would give him a three match suspension.

As I can't see anyway that we will finish in the top six (even if we won all three games) & that Sam can avoid a caution, I would argue that we should replace him with Dom Ball for the rest of the season.

I want him to be available for the opening game of next season rather than sitting on the naughty step!

I think your right and yes, give him the rest of the season as a, hopefully unused, sub.

Don't think Warburton will leave him out while it is still mathematically possible to make the play-offs. I like Field, but some of his bookings have been unnecessary.

Got to keep playing him whilst top six is a possibility, albeit highly unlikely.

Chances are it’ll all be over after Stoke so worst scenario is missing first game next season.

amazingly only 3 points off 6th if we loose to stoke then yes otherwise he's key to us.

Having said that wont it just be QPR to make the playoffs with Dom Ball, George Thomas, Andre Dozzell, Ossie Kaykay in the starting line up, something many of us would think these 4 would be doing. Yes I know that's the point of having a squad.

I can dream cant I?

captains fantastic

I could be wrong, but I didn't think suspensions racked up from yellow cards would carry over into another season?

Closing in on Joey's club record of eight consecutive games with a card I think... He sealed that with a red card for touching Tom Huddlestone's ballbag, so will go well to match that.

Yes, just done a quick count and it looks like 14 cards in 21 games since he collected the first on the 27th December. He started one match before that without a card.

It's now a consecutive seven in the recent games.

He did manage four in a row without a card in February but we didn't win any of them!

Before yesterday Sam Field had been booked 13 times in 22 games. Yesterday’s ref can be a bit card happy (average 4 bookings per game over the previous 10 games). Considering both teams really needed to go for a win yesterday I thought there was potential for a few cards. In fairness it wasn’t as feisty as it could have been, and he didn’t show the first one until well into the second half, but him and Sam didn’t disappoint.
PP 3/1 Field to be booked — cheers Sam, post-match beers were on you.

I think I finally saw Field's weakness yesterday - he doesn’t have any pace. Dink it past him and run and the only thing he can do is foul, hence all the cards.

A QPR player lacking pace - unusual

Incredible consistency from Field since returning to the fold around November time.

A good pre-season with no injuries and Field could easily be that 20+ man we’ve missed since Charlie’s first stint at QPR.

Cautions don't carry over, but any suspension that has been incurred do,
