He’s been at their academy for about 18 months,but I’ve yet to see him play for them.Now it’s two games in 2 games,1st against the bees,then in Newmarket on Thursday,but I don’t know who they’re playing yet.
They always used to produce a lot of their own players so there’s always a chance,but he’s a goalkeeper and there’s only one of them in each team.He was outstanding a couple of years ago and made some great saves at times,so the potential is there.
He does have a season ticket next to me in ML but playing on Saturday mornings means he hasn’t been to many games this season.Lucky sod.

My son (8) was meant to be on trial there tomorrow (for Brentford, sorry everyone.... long story!) but I just missed out on the application. Am applying for the next session as well as at QPR too but it doesn't look easy to find on the QPR website so any pointers would help!

I know you don't mean anything by that comment, but the Brentford Penguins are actually a team for kids with Downs Syndrome, the same as QPR's Tiger Cubs:

And for the OP, don't know the answer myself, but Gunnersbury Park is Council owned (London Borough of Ealing), with a whole load of pitches and a Sports Hub etc, so you could maybe phone the Hub on 020 8076 9940?

Final score 6-1 to the bees,and it could’ve been double that but for the other Ipswich keeper.Both keepers got 20 mins each out of the two 40 minute halves.My grandson was lucky and only conceded 1 of the 6 goals though and only had 1 other save to make.It was really men against boys though and the score probably should’ve a lot worse.I offered my services as Lino but I wasn’t required as they didn’t have any.
It’s a good set up at Gunnersbury though and there were several games going on at the same time across the various age groups.But Ipswich’s set up was very poor as the players were all stood around waiting for a coach and a ball to turn up before the game so they could warm up properly.They even had to borrow a ball from Brentford so they could have a kick around with.No coaches telling players what to do or where to go on the pitch.

You had a blond haired kid up front called Will who scored 4 good goals and should’ve had a few more.He looked a real prospect on today’s evidence.
Ipswich have 3 different training academies and they only get together for friendlies like today,so they didn’t even know their teammates names.A very strange arrangement with nobody really in charge of the team.They’re playing Cambridge Utd on Thursday so I’d hope for better. | | | |

I've notcied that a positive attitude, good communication skills and good manners will also help a player catch the eye of the coaches. With such fine margins between players, coaches often go for character as the decider, and rightfully so. | |
