Funny how one performance can change my mood - after Friday I was resigned to relegation but after that performance (apart from the first 15 mins), I have hope again.

Lots of ups and downs over the next 5 games!

The realisation that we were in the bottom 3 at two nil down seemed to spark them into life . It’s as if it hit them that this is a reality now.
First time in weeks we looked like a competent football side.

I too, am wary.
Although the fightback at West Brom has filled me with renewed hope, the Blackpool result after the Watford game lingers in the mind.

Still, where there's hope, eh?

It's a worry it took that considering what has happened the last 6 months. I have no confidence that they will buck up their ideas for more than a game, I back GA to keep at it but not the players.

Thanks as ever, Clive.

Hope you enjoyed writing that one as much as I enjoyed reading it.

Thanks Clive.

I'm afraid that this will mean nothing though. They've done this several times since Christmas: Sheff U and Swansea and Watford at home, Reading away. Next game is back to the same old, and the same old it shall be on Saturday. Not a single reason to expect anything different, particularly against Cov. The ghost of Eoin Jess looms.

Bare bones.

Thanks Clive - What do we always say "it's the hope that kills you"

Maybe we do need to go 4,4,2 and get early balls into the box. I agree with Gareth this squad is good at playing pretty football in neutral areas without hurting the opposition.

Amazingly it's still in our hands - Can we find something to dig us out of this mess.

Great to read a report with some positives

Covs defence (bidwell and Kane?) has 2 sturdy central defenders in there so not the creaky makeshift centre back pairing wba deployed

Yes an ember still glowing in the extinguished bonfire, please my rangers team spark it into life

captains fantastic

Ha ha, TBH mate, not really.

Quite apart from the fact that I am DONE with this team and this season, watching Ainsworth come on at the end and make a big, performative, exaggerated deal of getting the fans to applaud and thank the players for the monumental achievement of extracting one point from West Brom had me all Marge Simpson grumbly.

1 - it's not that big of a deal. They were crap.
2 - Where's this been for the last six months?
3 -I have a strong suspicion I know exactly what they're going to follow it up with this weekend.

A complacent first half an hour which sees us 2-0 (or more) down? Never!

It is such a big Saturday with the other fixtures. They have to come out of the traps quickly. They have to. We need to be on it from the off.

Humbug!

I get your point, though.

Theres always at least one chuckle line

The defence was still like something Rudy Giuliani would present in the car park of some landscaping business

Very good..... Actually think Saturday will define if we stay up

Cardiffs run in gave me more hope than I had previously

On the subject of after the match, I found it quite strange that in his interview, Gareth kept saying how proud he was of the players effort.

Surely that should be a given. Perhaps this was a follow to the Saturday meeting where it appears he had to explain to the players what maximum means.

If he has achieved drilling that message home I will certainly applaud him, but lets wait to see if it is repeated this weekend.
