Looking at BBC Football Stats earlier and Manning has some very impressive stats this season, including most chances created in Championship (91) with 2092 passes and an 81% pass completion rate, plus 9 assists and 5 goals,
Manning's stats are almost identical to Chair's, so will be interesting to see how he fares in the summer transfer window value wise.

Played 41 games and completed 2000+ passes so obviously has the will and determination to be an effective player in the championship,
I'm never a fan of converting players who spent their early careers as Winger into Full Backs (eg Ossie) but be interesting to see what sort of move (or fee) he commands as might tell us where the market is for the likes of Chair. | | | |

I disagree he can defend, and he's very good at it.
The problem is worse; he chooses not to.
Already this season, just casually watching the box, I saw Swansea concede a goal by the oppo player that Manning decided he should not track back with, instead just casually jogging back towards the goal as the oppo did a full breakaway and scored when he was in a position to get back in time, well within time.
Manning is not interested in defending; he prefers nice passes and the odd shot on goal. He gets away with it as he is very skilful and reasonable fit.
I suspect he will end up at a recently relegated Prem club, as they offload expensive assets; he then can swan in on a "free" with wages which won't scare them and possibly, if they go back up in one season, get into a Prem squad. Clever and smart.
Manning was mucked around by us, he should have been a DMC. He would have been great at that. But we messed him about and since then he has no trust for any club and who can blame him? |  |

He's out of contract so it won't be any use to us unfortunately. Good player who could be better if he really wanted to be. I think we should've played him CM but we missed out offering him a contract too late. Same with BOS, it's ok though because we learnt our lesson and got Hamalainen signed up... |  |

I always thought he would be decent in midfield, and thought he looked good when he played there for us. Good crosser, good through balls, good working in little triangles.
I think as a wingback where you accept his defensive issues in return for the positivies going forwards he can useful, you just have to account for it tactically.

Was a midfield player who he started for us , always better as a left side midfielder , strangle I was always a fan and his crosses would be great for dykes to work with as well |  |
