What the maximum points deduction for blowing FFP? 16:02 - May 9 with 5372 viewsloftboy

If it’s about 12 we should maybe look at blowing it, a decent set of players would surely get us to 75 points, 12 points deduction we would still be top half !!

it's not just a points deduction, you go the same way as Reading and have your finances managed by the EFL and your basically fooked unless you go up

They don’t do the fines now, we were the last ones to get it!
My post was a little tongue in cheek and would obviously only work if it guarantees promotion and we don’t come back down for a number of years. ( think Bournemouth)

FFP is completely why we are in this mess as a club.

Never knowingly right.

Don't upset Clive by letting him losse on this thread! I made the same mistake the other week.
His response was very direct and to the point..

Well this is the EFL we're talking about who have a very clear code and structure when it comes to penalties.

So for QPR - a 10,000 point deduction.

I’ve read reports which indicate that Chelsea have spent getting on for £600 million since Boehly took over. I find it hard to imagine under what kind of FFP rules that could possibly be considered reasonable.
And then we’re forced into a probable fire sale of our only playing assets to make it “fair play.”
The whole system is totally rigged to benefit those who are already at the top.

They have spread that money over the length of the contracts so it's not a 600million spend now it's 600million over the next 7 years. if they don't get back in the champions league they'll be in trouble but they do have a lot of players they can sell which will probably balance it out a bit this summer.

So why can’t we spread transfer fees over seven years

The type of player that we buy would probably be an OAP 7 years after we buy them.Or certainly retired from playing football.

We are a mess of a club for many reasons, FFP is the least of our problems.

That would mean having to give players 7 year contracts.

Chelsea are doing that on humongous wages and if those players get long term injuries or lose form or simply stop giving a schit then the ability to sell will be severely diminished and they’re lumbered with the cost.

Loftboy, we're QPR though.

So it wouldn't just be 12 points.

We'd get in a bunch of expensive players but guess what, they'd be like picking a good Premier League side but on a game of Football Manager 2016. All old. All 'too good to play for QPR.'

QPR end up in the bottom half by Xmas but no real relegation threat. Ainsworth is sacked. In a shock move, Les brings in Shaun Wright-Phillips as Manager.

The MP for Hammersmith dies and Les decides to stand as MP in the next bi-election. Shockingly he wins as the QPR fans pull a 'Jamie Pollock' and get him in but this only strengthens his Putin-esque hold on the club. He starts reporting all 3-1 defeats as 1-0 wins for us in the match day programmes. Anyone who dissents is sent off to the training ground for 're-education.'

In April, we find ourselves just above the relegation places.

SWP has been manager of the month for four months running but not from the league. Les has made him a sequence of homemade Blue Peter style awards. Les is very impressed with how many '1-0s' we've managed.

QPR somehow stay up by 11 points despite Dykes being our top scorer with five goals. But then the league decide that not only do we get a 12 point deduction (which ultimately saves Cardiff and puts us down in their place). It gets announced that a new sanction has just come in.

Any team being found to breach FFP rules on spending have to have all their season ticket holders lined up in their home stadium and then get their gobs bummed by ex-Chelsea players. It's oddly specific but guess what? YOU get John Terry. John Terry bumming YOU in the gob.

Season tickets for League One get released the next day. With a mouth full of Listerine you sign up yet again despite prices going up. Your wife leaves you and takes the kids. In divorce proceedings the magistrate declares you to be 'a complete f**king chief.'

Yes you are right and something in my haste I had not considered. However any wages would not be at the level of Chelsea,

most footy fans wanted some FFP TO balance the game, level it not create super elite untouchable clubs . in the 70s teams like qpr, ipswich, derby, forest saints could compete with the then great liverpool , could be top 3 , nick a cup. can you see that now? leicester being the rare team but watch big match revisited and see the teams competing and look at the prem lge and the difference is vast , 6 clubs every season going for 4 euro league spots and the real table is 10 teams trying to get 38pts and stay up.
FFP has created a vast gulf .

Chelsea also have a very lucrative business loaning out players.

I still don’t get why any of the clubs hasn’t challenged FFP in court. Surely an administrative body can’t restrict a company from making capital investments as it sees fit? Paying more for better quality staff (in this case players) is surely up to the board of each company. Fck the EFL.

I'm just guessing, but didn't all the clubs vote for it?

If so, it'd be hard to say they were forced into a disadvntageous situation.
