Gone in 35 seconds!! Venting release thread.... 15:42 - Aug 5 with 2356 viewsPlanetHonneywood

I don’t really give a rat’s derriere that in half century following QPR, that we’ve won nothing notable, and while I’d like to win a proper bit of silverware one day, I generally rock up with my chums happy to see QPR give it a bloody good go. I’d like the QPR team to be passionate and play with some sense of pride but at the very effing least, be professional! Do the latter and you’re halfway there and yet it’s something frequently beyond QPR.

Those who rejoiced in Tony-Pony buying them beers must be feeling right mugs now. That a-hole has been a living breathing walking disaster whose profligate ways may still be QPR’s ruin. Glad to be shot of him.

Again, we’re skint, because again, QPR having learned nothing from before, idiotically gambled the farm on players with questionable fitness (JoJo’s wages, I have on good authority, saw QPR offer way more than what other suitors were offering!).

I frequently hear the ‘stadium’ argument raised as to why we are where we are. However, it always feels more an excuse from the boardroom to mask the incompetence of how they’ve run QPR since August 2011. Having cocked up OOC, are they seriously suggesting the likes of Brentford, Fulham, BHA, Bournemouth, and now, Luton FFS - and good luck to them - all started in better positions than us when they set about climbing the slippery pole to the Prem? As for the monthly £2m they stump up: thanks, they’re the reason why it’s required and let’s see how long they keep stumping!

From the day SLF’s return as DOF was first mooted, I asked: What’s our selection criteria? Who else was considered for the role? And why was SLF ultimately chosen? He was, as I recall, sat looking a bit forlorn on the Spurs bench prior to coming to LR, and SLF’s appointment seemed a case of appointing a favourite to shift focus from a clueless board, as opposed to appointing the right man following a thorough selection process. Given what transpired, the shifting strategy and under-delivery, our predilection for considering those from our own gene pool has soured a legend and been a wasted opportunity.

I spoke to SLF after the Brum game. ‘They’re really trying!’ was his response to an abject display. That’s it, after eight years, we’re reduced to, they are ‘trying’. Frankly, trying is the minimum we should expect. Equally, he and we can’t hide from the facts, that during his tenure we produced nothing of note from within (which I thought was the plan) and player recruitment was frequently poor (see further hundreds of threads on the point!)

Last season QPR looked unfit! A chum attended a game with his mates who oversee the fitness of a non-league team, were shocked at QPR players’ fitness levels. This, and the failing medical set-up were so effing obvious to all of us for several seasons. I know an ex-player who had been on to SLF about player fitness and even the bloke from Coldplay tweeted barbed comments on player fitness. So why was it allowed to continue?

The pre-season looked woeful, our squad is the weakest we’re starting a campaign with, and if we weren’t so short of numbers, I’d have left some of the more gormless prats ever seen in Hoops dangling in Austrian trees. And here we are, desperate to sign players with ‘character’ and hoping to God we can get a run of games out of them. What this all says about QPR over the last eight years is that it’s been more DUFF than DOF.

Loved Gaz as a player and his desire to Make Rangers Great Again. However, who among our brethren wanted Gaz as QPR manager? His promise after the Bristol game that things would be different - they still might – remind me of Hughes’ ironic prediction after the City game. I don’t know, but it doesn’t seem to me, the players have bought into the long-haired, Cuban heeled one’s plea for unfettered commitment. There’s a stench of decay, and it’s only becoming stronger.

35 effing seconds is all those caaants could manage! I fear the tone for the remaining 45 games has been set and it could become very toxic. We’re in a mess wholly of our own making, not sure we’ve got the minerals or nous to do anything about it.

I wonder if any team in the history of football has spent as much money as we have to go as far backwards? I mean we are talking hundreds of millions of pounds spent, and we’ve been reduced to this.

Amen to this post

Amen brother!

I await the “be careful what you wish for brigade” to pop along and dispute it.
Many will be aware I’ve been where you’re at for about a decade
Season ticket chopped in after 33 years now
Disconnected massively from the place
Tragic to see what’s happening and knowing where it’ll end and nobody listening when the clowns were doing what they’ve done.

We’ll be back I hope

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

At the tender age of 73 I'm now resigned to seeing my club being mis-managed from top to bottom, dear me we couldn't even get the pitch changed In time.
It doesn't matter to me who Is on our team sheet anymore, I'll just glance at it and mumble something like "Oh".
Our decline has been alarming and Is gathering pace, I'm burnt out with It all, the club In It's entirety has let us down.
The real saddest thing for me or one of them Is I always liked watching Gareth Ainsworth playing he never gave less than what he could produce on the pitch, now all that's changed I cant watch or listen to the bloke anymore.

No knee jerk from me, we've been poor on and off the pitch for a long-long time and will remain so with our current Manager and players and especially the people at the top.

It hasn't just crept up on us.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

Today's surrender and conceding 35 seconds into a new season is another low amongst many new lows of recent years. This club excels in going backwards and seems to accept the decline as natural. There is an air of just given up in trying to succeed.
