Just watched the clip fair play to him plus he had enough sense to put the gun down once the shooter had moved away a safe distance.The police showing up in a frenzy could gun him down him by mistake .
The guy throwing rocks at the shooter ( not sure if its our hero ) put himself in grave danger with another active shooter on the bridge .
As for the OPs question if your family was in that danger I am 1000% certain each and every one of us would rush the shooter but for strangers in that situation not sure.Tip my cap to him and a second younger man that rushed in to help |  | | |

I disagree, fella.
Save if it's totally necessary, you have to try and keep these people alive to find out what, why, and who radicalised them; how they were armed and even funded, and msybe, if they know when the next one is planned. Gathering such intel may well provide insights into networks etc. that if infiltrated, could foil future plots and save many more lives.
The bloke who apprehended the (better say alleged) shooter, bravery above and beyond. I read a book a while about a 'have a go hero' whose life changed and not for the best. Hope that doesn't happen here. |  |

Australia clamped down hard on gun ownership after the last massacre years ago,so questions will have to be asked about how they managed to get at least 3 assault rifles.
As for the hero shooting the man,I think he did well to not shoot/kill him.I couldn’t imagine being in the same situation and executing someone like that.One second’s action could ruin his life forever. |  | | |
