Unusable now, sadly.

95% of the worthwhile content is WLS and the offish.

So many ads, and pop ups, and waits, and extra clicks, and worse, it launches dozens of tracking and other processes in my browser which sets my laptop fan going.

Removing it from my cycle of self-distracting websites to check.

The end of an era.

We used to get a tonne of traffic from there and like you was a daily user, haven't been on in months.

It's definitely gone downhill but I still look in. If you use an adblocker, like Ghostery for example, you won't get the pop ups etc.

On Chrome I recommend:
Poper Blocker – removes YT ads
Adblock – restricts ad elements
uBlock Origin Lite – blocks trackers and miners
Cookie Editor – the best simple cookie editor/deleting tool

*edit
just turned them off and went on Newsnow...wow. It's unusable.

The Theory of Enshittification

Stage 1: Attract Users: Platforms offer excellent value (e.g., free services, great features) to build a large user base.

Stage 2: Attract Business Customers: Once users are locked in, the platform starts favoring business clients (like advertisers) over users, degrading the quality for individuals.

Stage 3: Maximize Profit: With both users and businesses dependent, the platform further degrades service to extract maximum revenue for shareholders, often through more ads, fees, and manipulation.

There does seem to be a lot of complete pony stories on there.

I think there was one entitled 'Sir David Beckham speaks out about World Cup ticket prices' and when you click through it has that title, about 3 lines of waffle and a quote saying something like "It's bad, innit!" Said Sir Beckham.

That was it!

Never knowingly right.

Once you get into the realms of blockers and VPN's etc I just give up. Subscriptions too I think I'm down to just this place and YouTube now. By overcomplicating things they're forcing us into a much simpler life and I'm much happier for it.

I wasn't able to watch a stream of the match on Saturday so I listened to Radio London for the first time in ages and really enjoyed it. "There's been another goal at the Riverside" followed by the dreaded, anguish filled delay, before those words of pain from the reporter that "it's gone to the home side"

Think I might just stick with going to matches when I can, watching matches down the pub, via QPR website or listening on the radio from now on.

Listening on the radio was great. I should do it occasionally myself, once more. Makes a nil nil bore fest, seem like a five four awayday victory, if done right.

Newsnow I have generally stopped using.

Used to look at it, all the time when the transfer windows were open and so often the rumoured buys that were mentioned ad infinitum never ever happened, and the ones that were never mentioned seemed to be signed out of nowhere.

And yes the misleading headlines with the double entendre tease, are extremely common place and always full of zero credible information.

WLS for accurate updates, QPR official for guaranteed news, although with the current regime enjoying releasing constant smokescreens bordering on falsifications, there is not much on there apart from Clives reports and scribes from here, but its a concern that all the ads could cause s few techno issues.

Hence why my answer now to the following question -

Snog, marry, avoid ??

Used to snog, but firmly in the avoid camp now....
