The board are clearly to blame for the malaise as WLS referred to it recently. It's sad that people still make excuses for Ruben, based on him paying the bills or investing in the infrastructure. However, as Clive says, he would never have appointed a 26-year-old fresh out of university as the CEO (or DoF) of his main business, and that says it all. We should be protesting against them. Until the Board, and Ruben Gnanalingam in particular, get a grip on the situation, I fear we'll continue to limp along from one season to another. Given the many millions he's spent on QPR, we owe a great deal to Ruben for keeping us alive. But we're not healthy and won't be until the sickness, the malaise, is properly treated. |  | | |

Both of Dave's podcasts this week are an absolute must listen. If you haven't before, make time for these two. When Dave Mc is in "home truths" mode it's pretty unfckwithable.
But the first one was very much focused on Stephan and the second one started with "it's not the time to talk about how the club is run" so I'm really hoping it's part of a trilogy and we get to hear part three in the coming weeks. |  | | |

If you go back to that fans forum in August, when the panel was asked what would constitute “success” for QPR, the first answer was “a younger squad”. Jon De Souza said: “If we’re able to be here in five years’ time still consistently delivering the same messages that means we’ve been successful.”

I suspect Ruben operates behind the scenes and given the scale of his other businesses and wealth I doubt he’s that forensic in checking on his management team.That said, business leaders in SE Asia take a dim view of failure and what we are seeing at the R’s at the moment are catastrophic management failures.

It does make you wonder what the club did / said to Cook to get that sort of reaction from a seasoned pro.
Notwithstanding that, he was about the only player to come out of the first half on Wednesday with a semblance of credit. He tore strips off Varane, Mbengue and Vale, not that it had much impact. | | | |

If you think Cook acts with a lack of respect and professionalism, my mind boggles as to what you think of Saito, Clarke-Salter, Varane and most of the others.
He's no doubt leaving at the end of the season so changed his Twitter bio to his PL days, hardly a lack of respect. To my mind he's the QPR player of my lifetime who has been shown the least respect and gratitude by the club, so takes two to tango.
Even on Wednesday they go back to him and he turns up, he cares, he does better than anyone else and pays the price of our absurd fitness regime.

As Clive has mentioned previously we have form in treating our players ex or present poorly. Cook comes across as a consummate professional and has probably seen it all. So whatever made him react must have been either dis-respectful or downright shitty or both.
Since he’s arrived he has literally carried the team on so many occasions. | | | |
