Is this not just a load of suburban blokes approaching their forties realising that being part of a group with a dress code is the sort of thing you do when you're eight? Like the cubs but with pyros rather than bonfires. Did being a middle-aged bloke telling people that you spent your weekend wearing matching t-shirts and silk scarves with your other "ultra" mates start feeling a bit daft? I wish them all the best and hope they enjoy travelling round the country going to watch their team with their mates, but without the uniform and the manifestos, in the same way that most other supporters have for decades. |  |

I wonder if this is more to do with some targeted action by the Notts Florist owner?
Had heard he was issuing defamation writs over some tifo they’d done.
Personally, I find the “spectacle” of blokes all dressing in black, co-ordinated and choreographed activity in one section all by a bloke with a megaphone, all a bit cheesey. It’s not for me Jim.

Sure, "Ultras" and all that nonsense, easy for us to get sniffy and I don't doubt they had some dickheads in the leadership because, you know, people. But it always looked and sounded like they generated a loud and consistent atmosphere every game. And in a time of ever increasing atmosphere killing, cameraphone wielding, tourist based attendances in the Premier League Global Circus Show a few local lads getting organised to support their local team with a bit of noise and passion isn't all bad.
