Agree 100%. Going on the pitch is a serious bug bear of mine, it's embarrassing, especially when nothing's been won.
The Oldham point is spot on, what a great night and no need to be on the pitch, even if Holloway on the microphone was a little bit corny, it was a great party atmosphere for a good half hour. |  | | |

It's easily done if everybody goes on, Young North has done it before. You can nip down the back stairs and either go out through the paddocks or through the lower loft past the back alley by the blue and white bar.

I'll go slightly against the grain...
Many years ago when I was 10/11/12 old there was an end of year pitch invasion for the last game of the season. Personally it was just an amazing experience to be on the pitch. Not done it for a long-time but I don't think it's all bad.
The only issues I have with people doing it currently are
a) running up to the away fans and taunting them - generally followed by embarrassing running away as 3 away fans come on the pitch to respond.
b) taking 15 minutes to get off the pitch post invasion. Get on, enjoy it. get off. 5 minutes tops.

In my view there should be a Stadium ban and criminal record for anyone on the pitch. And it wouldn't be too hard to enforce given the camera network.
Was meant to be a spontaneous thing but now people do it because 'it's what people do'.
And once on the pitch people just start being moronic since what else can you do except be moronic once you're on there. It's sad 'cos if everyone stayed where they were then we could all watch the players do a lap of honour or whatever which as a fan I'd find a far more satisfying end to proceedings. |  | | |

Yep. Second that. When I was a teenager (late 80's and early 90's) we always went on the pitch last game of the season. Was always a nice touch and very enjoyable. Don't understand all the fuss about it.............or should these negative opinions of going on the pitch be yet ANOTHER thing I hate about modern football? [Post edited 11 May 2014 22:05]
