The chief is back on 13:51 - Dec 8 by stevec | I'm getting a bit tired of these excuses about injuries. It's a hamstring FFS, run it off. |
I sense you may have said that in jest, but a guy I play football with played on with a muscle injury. He eventually ruptured it and he was out for six months. We just don't trust our manager any more, do we, whoever it is, at least, not since Warnock. We're weighed down by cynicism, pessimism and paranoia, but then I think some of that is understandable, given the way our dreams have crumbled recently. RFA

@R_from_afar 'We're weighed down by cynicism, pessimism and paranoia.' Don't forget despair. That's another good one.

Actually I listened to the Pod this week and came away with mild depression on top of everything else.

The chief is back on 07:46 - Dec 8 by Northernr | Was meant to play for the U23s next week, then Baptiste got himself suspended - roughly translates as we're desperately rushing a player back from a bad hamstring injury again. Just one of the many daft medium and long term decisions we make all the time because we're constantly pining for a change of manager. Place your manager under constant threat and he makes team selections and signings that help him right now and fck the medium and long term. |
Tbf I'll be pining for another manager whether Onouha plays or not.

Then there's anger, bitterness, entitlement, middle-age angst and saudade. Or is that just me?

I wonder at times whether I feel depressed because I support QPR or whether my pessimistic nature drew me to QPR...

Whoever it is they'll be under pressure and about to be sacked, or already gone, this time next year.

The chief is back on 12:41 - Dec 8 by loneranger1 | Unfortunately that's exactly what I'm predicting as well.... Surely Ollie's going to have to at least call on one of the u-23 players for a place on the bench as back-up, whether Onouha starts or not - do we know if Furlong is back fit yet? |
I'm pretty certain I read earlier that Furlong is still injured.

You may have something there. In these times of austerity, why don't we simply dispense with the manager, the coaches, the fitness mob, and all the others and just employ a single person: a witchdoctor/warlock/witch/shaman/mad old hermit with a bag of weird herbs. We'd save a ton of cash, the new incumbent would spook the opposition and would be able to keep the fans quiet with a mixture of soft incantations and obscure hallucinogens. They might even be able to magic up a poultice capable of keeping our defenders mobile. Added bonuses could include a penchant for playing five up front, with three wingers, and a strong aversion to using social media. Bring it on. RFA

Possible conflict of interest on 00:42 - Dec 9 with 1562 views | mylot50years | Northernr as much as I have enjoyed over many years your input and great match reports and most importantly your say it as it is approach to sometimes difficult situations within our football club and God knows we as a club have had many.Let me say I am as fed up as anybody with some of the knee jerk decisions made in the past as regards to the changing of our manager or coach but I think we are in a situation that requires this issue to be seriously looked at again. I believe we have a decent squad of players still available for selection even taking our injuries into account to be mid table at worst but they are looking more and more confused as the weeks go on good players starting to lack confidence in what their being asked to do .We are in big trouble I feel and over several weeks now your comments on the present managerial situation and almost seemingly defending the indefensible on what I watch every week even more so away from home, I don't know what access you have behind the scenes at headquarters but from your reports I assume it is some and for you to continue to have that privilege it is not inturn influencing your input on this particular subject and the consequence a more realistic opinion might have on your situation. Northernr I look forward to your match reports for many years to come starting with a positive result wise after Leeds
