We haven't finished higher than 12th since we got relegated have we? So we're flying high at the moment! It'd be great to finish a few places above 16th....... not wanting to tem,pt fate.

Strange season. Absolutely loving the football, forward moving it’s hard to recall a Rangers side this exciting since the 1970’s, Yet every time I look at the table it makes you weep. We are way better than bottom half, we know where the problems were, but it feels we were within touching distance of a successful side.

If Eze and BOS do go, it’ll feel like a missed opportunity, though it felt like that when Marsh left and turned out far better than we could have imagined. This is a big summer.

Also, fair play to Rooney. We can talk about the money but what a pleasure to see a player of his stature willing to commit to the Championship, very few top players are willing to do that these days when retiring a rich man overrides showboating your skills to fans who rarely got to see him at the height of his career.

I thought we picked up after Clarke came on too. Not for his individual contribution but with him staying so wide, and their defence frightened of BOS’s pace in the middle (so much so they subbed off Curtis Davie when he went up front), and Rooney tiring, suddenly there was loads of room in the magical area in front of their back four. That space is where our winner came from.

i lost the stream soon after - reading above, Eze must have really turned it on!

great stuff

Come off it. Be fair. You're putting eze up there with Rooney. Just another 200 goals to go. Top flight goals at that

Talent is not a constant. You don’t retain the same talent through your entire career or life. Your natural aptitude or flair for a particular skill can wax and wane.

Rooney had more talent, in his prime, of course. But he is no longer close to his prime, and, at this point in time possesses less talent than Eze. Clear?

No one can honestly say Gary Linekar IS more talented than Vardy, for example. He may have been more talented when he played though.

Of course Eze is not on a par with the past Rooney, but the current one?

On the evidence of last night & his overall performances this season, he certainly is!

The second half was an outstanding all round showing from Eberechi.

You can tell Rooney was a class act. But with the emphasis on the WAS.

He can still pick out passes but he struggles to make a signifcant impact over 90 minutes, as he has lost the explosive energy he once had. Thought he faded badly as we stepped up.

Gotta say thats the second post i’ve seen praising Rooney and i don’t quite get it. Thought he played sone nice passes, did one or two lovely tricks but overall was slow, meandering, struggled to impose himself and tired significantly in the last 20. I think most players of class can look decent sitting about in the centre circle playing 30 yard balls but doing almost nothing else? but not really sure that’s a luxury any team can afford. Ray Wilkins did more than that for years later into his career. Poor man’s Jan Molby, career almost over for me, Clive.

Bit harsh AH. As I said elsewhere all 22 played poor balls last night.

Thought Rooney picked out passes others didn't and he DID stop that wonderful interplay between Eze/Chair that was looking like a good opportunity for us until he slid in and took the ball away.

He even seems to have given up on his refereeing career as well!

Yeah good on Rooney for still getting paid fortunes whilst also being sponsored by a betting company and playing for a team that is doing everything they can to cheat their way to the Premier League.

Top man.

Yup. Plus I don't really agree that he was getting tired, I just thought he couldn't really be arsed.

Derby were so poor for most of the first half he probably had a cob on, or what ever they call it, in Brookside.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

Would have been different if Waghorn had a better day. Arguably.
