Obvious choices.

Adomah - expert on late 19th Century having lived through most of it.

Palmer - actually went to University and was actually on University Challenge.

Carlisle - was actually on Countdown and won the thing - the thing being the show not Vorderman.

Bircham - because we love him and he’s got blue hair.

Fully expect to be knocked out in the 3rd Round to the University of Port Vale.

I felt very smug after last night's episode, especially that question, several times shouting at the telly. I scored 22 based on saying the answers out loud before they did. Steve Palmer was in a team over the Xmas series, but I don't remember him saying much?

To be fair to Steve Palmer, he was better than Monty Panesar!

22 - very impressive
I got 13 last night including 2 of the dresses in the picture round. WTF!
I struggled with the 2 US Presidents whose names are part of a London suburb home to QPR. NOT!

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the Earth all one’s lifetime. (Mark Twain) Find me on twitter @derbyhoop

I too got 2 off the dress questions right!
Had a pretty decent quiz, don’t count points but questions I got right.
Anybody do Jays Pub Quiz on a Thursday night?

If I’d remembered the surname of the author of Kes (I knew it wasn’t Barry Chuckle but hey at least I had a go) I would’ve got as many as the total Cambridge score. I was lucky with a few guesses, and I suppose you do amass a bit of knowledge as you get older but either the questions are getting easier and/or the students are getting thicker. And yes I got one of the dresses too.

Edit: Okay it seems I didn’t quite get the gist of the scoring system. So I was actually quite a way off winning the speedboat.

Not as bad as the Geography student on Pointless yesterday when asked which town was Banksy's Nativity scene in replied with Iran... or the girl on Tipping Point when asked which seven sided coin replaced the ten shilling note reasoned to herself that the 50p must have 5 sides so she passed it to her middle aged opponent who probably couldn't believe his luck.

The grass is always greener.

Ealing's finest, sadly eliminated, Webb of Corpus Christi, Oxford. He should be our staring coach.

A few lucky guesses including Mary Quant and Watson & Crick, but, having lived 3 years in Kiribati, the Pacific questions were a doddle for me. Also awarded myself top marks on the birds. A few weeks ago, I noticed that QPR were a pointless answer and before that QPR fan, Victoria Coren gave a Superhoops whoop to an Rs answer!
