Lol sorry mate, I just knew it couldn't be Rodney. I've got a vague image of Alan Wilks doing what you described, but no clear memory otherwise. I went to every home game that season, but my clearest memories are of the 4 times that we actually won e.g evening game v Ipswich

Great advice mate. I’m ditching the buggy and getting Les Ferdinand to drop me off by helicopter via Northolt airport. It’s about 500 yards away but I think it might be a clincher. When he drops me off - man, I can’t wait!!! ( I won’t let the chopper touch ground - maybe Bryson a few 300 yarders out the side doors and spring out) I feel that this maybe a clincher. I’ll then f u k Les off to let them know I’m not messing.

Sounds like you don’t need any help from me, mate. That said, what about wearing a Ryder Cup blazer for the interview? Go into the office and say, “Let’s walk and talk - follow me”, then you walk them round the course, sorting out divots and stuff whilst telling them about yourself. This establishes you as the Alpha and let’s you demonstrate your practical skills at the same time. You need to be assertive and not let them dominate the interview process. Any time they start asking you a question, just repeatedly shout “FORE!” or “GET IN THE HOLE!” until they stop. Give me a shout if you get stuck. Good luck, mate.

Cheers mate. There is a new 18 hole links course almost ready to go opposite Northolt airport on the A40 - it’s across the road from nutty Northolt airport. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, so fingers crossed. I applied for The Buckinghamshire in Denham but they politely declined. I’m a bit more Northolt to be fair.
Shame that Mick, Sir Les is/was a member at the Bucks, seen him there and had a chat with him.....you would have loved it if green keepers are allowed in the club house!!!!

I'm typically bewildered by people with crystal clear memories of a particular game eg oh yeah March 87, Macca cleared one off the line and booted their centre forward into the paddocks after being looked at in a funny way in the second minute, and Les headed one in from the edge of the box, the weather was light drizzle and the attendance was around 14187, I had a hot dog at the van on the corner of Ellerslie with my Uncle Arthur on the way out.
I can barely remember the games I've been to this season.
Naah that was February '87.

It really is a crap interview question and says more about the person asking than some tick box answer could possibly give any insight on the candidate.
I got asked it on one occasion and my response was: You can tell a lot about an organisation and the people it employs from the recruitment and interview process. That question shows such a lack of thought, preparation and imagination that it tells me this is probably not the role for me.
They called me the next day and offered me the job, which I declined.
