is that where the clique planning meetings are?
Can i come to the next one?
All virtual these days, it's a zoom call done in your own toilet. Trousers have to be worn at all times though which has seen a few people leave. It's not the same to be honest but more than welcome to join

Can I make it perfectly clear that any cliques I may have attended were work meetings and not parties despite the booze I may have brought along with me. And my wife.

Not what Sue Gray told me.

I think I mainly hate him for his ridiculous memory. I'll watch two or three matches and have trouble remembering even the goals.
There must be some other part of my brain benefitting from this deficit but have yet to figure out which bit.
I'm typically bewildered by people with crystal clear memories of a particular game eg oh yeah March 87, Macca cleared one off the line and booted their centre forward into the paddocks after being looked at in a funny way in the second minute, and Les headed one in from the edge of the box, the weather was light drizzle and the attendance was around 14187, I had a hot dog at the van on the corner of Ellerslie with my Uncle Arthur on the way out.
I can barely remember the games I've been to this season.

Guilty! I can remember a midweek game up at Bury where one of the pre match footballs was being kicked about by the travelling R's fans until a policeman came and took it to throw back on the pitch. Tony Roberts noticed what was going on and threw it straight back to the R's fans to carry on. No idea what the score or the date was but that incident has remained with me for years. I have so many other inconsequential memories such as the one above but couldn't tell you the scores of the games I have been to this season. Rodney Marsh hitting the inside of both uprights from the Ellerslie Rd touchline without scoring against Leicester City in our first ever home game in Division 1 is another but I DO remember it finished 1-1.
The grass is always greener.

I remember being at that game - er, Rodney didn't play he was injured for our early games.
Frank Clarke and Wilks led the line, I believe
Now, what did I mean to do this morning?

Very good!
Do you follow horseracing? - Trainers/jockeys seem to have a brain stored with every race every one of their horses has ever run!
Even ex jockeys remember exactly how a horse ran and who he beat or got beaten by -years later at times - its just odd!

Same with golfers, Paul. Every shot, hole and putt from years ago, let alone the last round. It’s quite incredible.
Not all of us. I can have just finished and if we are checking score cards and someone asks me what I got on the 5th, I won’t have a clue. Same with matches I’ve been to. I’m always jealous of those who can name the first game they went to but all I can tell you is that it probably involved QPR.

I meant professional golfers Woking. I’m the same after and even during a game regarding having almost no memory when I’m playing. After the round when people are talking about the 8th or whatever hole I rarely have a clue. I’m investing in a clicker counter so I don’t miscount my shots hole by hole.
I have an interview on Saturday - assistant greenkeeper. No shit.
Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

Good luck mate, where at?
Cheers mate. There is a new 18 hole links course almost ready to go opposite Northolt airport on the A40 - it’s across the road from nutty Northolt airport. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, so fingers crossed. I applied for The Buckinghamshire in Denham but they politely declined. I’m a bit more Northolt to be fair.

Good luck, Mick. Buckinghamshire? Fu ckinghamshire more like. You dodged a bullet there, mate.
If you need a reference, you know where I am. I've played pitch and putt/crazy golf at some of the best courses in the country; Yarmouth, Bognor, Swanage...all the big ones.
My advice: You only get one chance to make a first impression, so literally drive into the interview in a golf buggy, wearing all the clobber, get out the buggy, start pulling out clubs, and smashing balls everywhere. Maybe get Nick Faldo to caddy for you during the interview, and tell them you can't start on Monday, but you'll see them on Tuesday. Sign some golf merch, pose for selfies with the person/people interviewing you, and then get Nick Faldo to drive you out in the golf buggy. Guarantee you get the job.
Fulham FC: It's the taking part that counts

Great advice mate. I’m ditching the buggy and getting Les Ferdinand to drop me off by helicopter via Northolt airport. It’s about 500 yards away but I think it might be a clincher. When he drops me off - man, I can’t wait!!! ( I won’t let the chopper touch ground - maybe Bryson a few 300 yarders out the side doors and spring out) I feel that this maybe a clincher. I’ll then f u k Les off to let them know I’m not messing.
Can’t wait to help people park their cars.
I’ll let you know. Gotta believe.

Is Pine Trees still there (I think it was called)? I’d love to do a job like that, know a bloke who got made redundant from a fairly stressy job about 6 years ago and now does that, absolutely loves it (and gets a few free lessons), a lot less money but no stress and out in the fresh air, what’s not to love?!

"I won’t let the chopper touch ground"
Doesn't this belong on the "waz" thread?

West London Golf Centre - used to be Lime Trees. It’s the place with the crazy golf dinosaurs to cheer the kids up as you try to teach them golf. Some of them are enormous. ( not the kids).
