| Warbs Big Mistake Today 15:53 - Mar 20 with 6049 views | ParkRoyalR | Playing Sanderson, his very poor defending led to 1st + 3rd goals and did'nt help playing Dunne out of position on left which contributed in part to him giving away a very poor penalty. Barbet, Willock + Dykes on top of their games and we are a completely different team. | | | | |

| Warbs Big Mistake Today on 18:41 - Mar 20 with 1587 views | bosh67 | I wonder if Warbs and the club are wishing they had kept the faith and promoted from within rather than getting in Kendrick and Sanderson. You can't blame them entirely but our form has fallen off a cliff since they came in and I wonder if, by no fault of their own, if it has effected the changing room. It certainly feels like it. Dom Ball any day over both Kendrick and Sanderson btw. | |

| Warbs Big Mistake Today on 18:32 - Mar 20 by ed_83 | I'm 100% behind Warburton, think he's done an incredible job, want him to stay regardless of where we finish this season etc etc etc. But he's had an absolute shocker today. Sanderson looked great before his sending off against Blackpool, but ever since then he's been dire, and cost us at least one goal today without looking remotely bothered about it. And yet we're not only keeping him in the team, we're keeping Barbet out of the starting lineup and shunting Dunne across the back three to accommodate him. Makes absolutely no sense at all. Then there are the subs. We're chasing the game, Gray's scored three in three and Charlie plays better with someone alongside him - why are we taking him off? Amos has done everything right, winning the ball high up the field, scores a great goal, and comes off for Hendrick? We loaned in two players in positions we didn't need, and we've continued to play them both, despite their performances making the team worse. It's absurd. I think Clive's usual caveat is extremely relevant here - we don't know what happens behind closed doors, maybe Amos is carrying a knock, maybe we're contractually obliged to give Hendrick and Sanderson X number of minutes - but whatever the reasons the decisions being taken are harming the team. I thought Warburton's post-match interview was honest and decent: he's completely write to say that the team deserved to be booed off by the fans, and that what matters is how the players respond. But we've heard that before, and we still end up with the dross we've seen today. I felt offended haviing paid a tenner for the stream, people who went in person must be livid. We need to see a very serious reaction from the coaching staff and players. |
My youngest son flew in from Zurich for the game this morning and straight back for work tomorrow ...all to watch that pathetic display

I would be absolutely fuming mate. Appalling performance from team and manager alike today, however much I'm usually willing to back them when they make mistakes.

Everyone makes mistakes... it's forgivable. What is not so forgivable is making the same mistake again and again. MW and the players have two weeks now to show us a response. Then we will know if they have learned anything.

| Warbs Big Mistake Today on 17:43 - Mar 20 by NorrisGreen | Sorry, can someone tell me a single player that has thrived and developed under Warburton's reign this season? Why is Dion getting singled out - he's just the latest in a long line of players to go to pot under Warburton's tutelage here. Warb's big mistake today was turning up for work. |

| Warbs Big Mistake Today on 23:13 - Mar 20 with 1248 views | golborne | When I watched Brum match a few months back Sinton etc kept going on about Sanderson and how he’s fancied at Wolves, great prospect blah blah, so it made me watch him closely. The more I watched him, the more I thought he was pretty average, and then Willock went and did what he did on his watch. Once you’ve watched it a dozen times (because of the pure genius) you start analysing more and more how it unfolded, and my conclusion was great prospect my arse. 2-3 weeks later we’re signing him, when a much better signing would have been the wing back who was at Cardiff for the first half of the season and ended up at Blackburn. We didn’t need a CB, as we had de wijs, and field and ball who can fill in if needed. As somebody else mentioned the loans this winter did the reverse of last year. Apart from an emergency keeper (who’s ended up being as poor as any), the others weren’t needed. We had plenty of cover in those positions and what we have are better. We have a decent squad this year that we should all be grateful for, given where we were 3-4 years ago. I’ll also say that Henderick isn’t a bad player, but we have better players who should be in the team ahead of him. He ain’t any worse than he was as a Prem league regular at Burnley 3 years ago, so that makes me feel reassured by what we have. Dozell might end up a very good player (still very young and he’s missed a chunk due to injury) and Lukie just needs games to build his confidence- another great goal today all of his own making. My glass is still half full cos a) it’s the championship and anything can happen, and b) what’s the point of me dragging my arse down there if I’ve thrown the towel in. I need to feel/hope my team are gonna win, or it’s not worth the effort. | | | |
| Warbs Big Mistake Today on 23:34 - Mar 20 with 1221 views | Spaghetti_Hoops | Horror show second half today. Only logical explanation I can find is that the club (board AND management team) are thinking more of building for next season and Sanderson was brought in as an intended Barbet replacement. They are trying to build next season's defence. Hence the experiments. I suppose that is how you have to think to do it the Brentford way? It's not going well but Warbs has shown that he is very patient by pro-football standards and will give a new player plenty of time and chances. Fans, of course, expect pragmatic decisions focused only on winning the game in hand. All understandable but for fans intensely frustrating. Hendrick on the other hand is inexplicable. There is absolutely nothing positive about that loan signing. There must be a story there. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I don't think that was the case. I thought it was booing the decision to take Amos off.

Think people are being overly harsh on Sanderson. He’s not been that bad. Dickie and Barbet, their form hasn’t been great for a few weeks, Dickie especially. When we play Albert on the Right side and Dickie right side of the 3, it’s a clear area where opposition target us. We lack pace. Getting this guy in, adds legs and what Warbs always goes on about, Energy. I think he looked pretty classy before the stupid sending off and I think he performed ok against Forest as well, all of a sudden he’s getting pelters from fans and being seen as a major problem, he’s not. Yes he’s a loan so not one of our own, but you build good relationships with players, show them what the club is about, they “could” be an option for us in the future and would give us an advantage in securing their services if they move on. Hendricks and Amos. Now that’s a different debate entirely. One guy playing well, adding energy to our midfield, one of our own and a good age, is regularly being taken off or not starting in place of a senior pro that pretty much said he came to us to “play some football”. I didn’t get the impression he was desperate to make a good impression and help us challenge for promotion and guide some of the younger players. I just think that is a much bigger problem than getting Sanderson — a player with pace, something that we severely lack — into the Team, especially as both Dickie and Barbet were struggling a bit.

Yep. Don't think I've ever been as pissed off for a single player as the way he showed their player through for the third. Just looked like he couldn't care less the whole game.
