Can anyone help me here?. What exactly has been going on with this player? I just don't get it. We just bought someone who has played hardly any games for us. I'm mystified.

AND WHEN I DREAM , I DREAM ABOUT YOU AND WHEN I SCREAM I SCREAM ABOUT YOU!!!!!

Perhaps I'm wrong, but I gained the impression that Richards had mental problems rather than physical. I will always be very supportive of anyone that has these issues & I hope that he has found a way to deal with them.

I don't doubt that he has lots of ability, but if he is unable to settle his mind, he won't be able to deliver on the pitch consistently.

Best wishes to Taylor, I hope this move works out for both the player & the club, but I do have doubts.

been told on numerous occasions his attitude is awful which is the main reason hes not been playing , late for training you name it , when he has played apart from the shoe tying incident he looks like hes got something , issue is his head if he knuckles down maybe we can turn him into a player next season if not a bloody expenisve field ornament

I'm sure we'd all be interested to know a bit about your source, Wombat.
Appreciate you can't or wouldn't want to (quite rightly) name names, but is this a source who is working with him closely at the club currently, or does it go back to earlier days?

I don't know what the issues were to stop him playing.......

However, from the few times from what I have seen, he looks a capable player and, if fit, should be ok for us - he has talent.,

I've heard he's a Technical player, apparently incredibly so at times. But ALLEGEDLY hasn't got the attitude let alone the mindset.

But where's all the backdrop to these comments coming from, Jordan? Does the evidence for this come from a credible source?

Very funny, Jordan.
My point is that if you're going to make comments like that, then surely they should be qualified with " I understand from someone who has worked with him regularly that.." or "I remember that when I played with him in the U16s at wherever that...", otherwise how can these comments be evaluated objectively?

Again, I get the point about confidentiality and not compromising your sources. Surely, however, a phrase along the lines of " a credible source informs me that..." or something of a similar ilk would add weight to the point being made.

I wasn't expecting you to give me the full blown patronising treatment. To be honest, I would have expected better from you than that.
I am quite capable of making balanced judgements based on empirically gathered evidence both pro and against any case, and am quite prepared to have my opinion changed if the evidence points in a particular direction.
With that in mind, I will investigate Jordan's work further. Thanks for sharing.

Well, let’s hear some of your evidence, background, credentials then, while you’re demanding it of others before they’re allowed to speak.

You post very seldom, under an anonymous username, suddenly GA RD turn up and you’re all over every thread like a rash, hammering anybody who posts anything remotely pessimistic, bludgeoning any point of view other than This Is Going to be Great into the ground with post after post and the only logic you’ve offered up so far is “well it’s better than being miserable all the time”.

That’s fine, it’s only a bloody message board, but a bit bloody rich to start asking other people to start showing their papers before they proceed? Who are you? What’s your background? Where do you work? Have you worked with or for gaz and dobbo previously? Are you mates with them?

Should work both ways right?

Did he Work From Home last year - maybe he'll be asked to come into the office this year.

In all seriousness we could not really judge him on last years performance - here's hoping that this year he's fit and we can judge his ability.

Which performances are you actually talking about?

Fine. Fair enough.
Personally, I thought I had already stated that the evidence I've been using has simply been what GA and RD, or in other cases, Mark Warburton or further back Ian Holloway have themselves gone on public record as having said or written, or what is already published in readily accessible format such as local newspapers.
I'm not aware of having expressed any opinion that has not had its foundation on anything except what has been previously published elsewhere. If you can find anything to the contrary, please let me know and I will either publicly apologise, or explain more clearly on what I'm basing my comments.
No, I have no personal association with either GA or RD or worked with them previously. I have already stated on several occasions in different threads that I lived whilst married in Amersham and from that came frequent invites for my two boys to visit Wycombe Wanderers as part of their local outreach scheme. Apart from that, I've been a humble R's fan for 50 years, and am lucky to be able to have had many 1-1s with Ian Holloway and Marc Bircham through work and personal connections, that I'm happy to divulge if they are of any real interest to anyone (which I suspect they probably aren't).
If you'd like to know more, feel free to ask, but i doubt you'd find the answers particularly interesting or revealing.
If your wider point is that you're fed up of seeing me post here, or that you don't see any value in what I'm contributing, then I recognise that as you are the site administrator, you have the authority to respectfully suggest I disappear. I would then have no sensible alternative but to acknowledge and accept that graciously and go along with said request.

Christ, I didn't expect to come back to this.

My comment was a little abrasive so apologies but I don't think I was the only one to suggest his attitude might not be where it's needed - but I could be wrong.

Who knows whether Taylor will become the player we need, to move from Fulham to Man City at 14 then get signed by Brighton for £2.5m you must have something about you.

I'm only speculating but all of the young players I have worked with that play a much higher level than QPR, one of the clear difference is their mindset and how utterly ruthless they are. Fingers crossed TJ is that guys for us.

I see some stuff on here that I know is fundamentally wrong, but it is what it is. It's really not worth jumping into every thread asking for credentials. Some people will agree, some won't that's life and at the end of the day it's only QPR.

I've actually asked Clive before about changing my number but it's not that easy, I should probably just set up another account.

I apologise, because I clearly should have known more about who you are than I did. So I understand now that you work directly with young players and you have had some direct feedback about Taylor Richards himself.
That's empirically gathered evidence, so is clearly objectively valid. That's all I needed to know, so I will understand where you're coming from in future when you make specific statements about individual players.

No my wider point is simply this - you cannot go around demanding credentials and empirical evidence from other posters when you don't provide any yourself.

You've triggered me this time because Jordan would fcking know, and it would have only needed you to click his username and read another post of his this week, or look at his Twitter account for five minutes, to know that.

But even if Jordan was bloody N20NobodyHoop who works on the tills at Sainsbury's, he would be entitled to hold and express the view (within the bounds of libel law) that one of our player's appears to have a stinky attitude.

Your input is very, very welcome here. It's overwhelmingly positive (in every sense of that term), and the board needs that because the misery and negativity on here, while fully justified IMO, is draining. Lots of people have told me they can't face positing or getting involved any more because it's just too sad. I'm more guilty than most. I think we're absolutely fcked. I think we're so far beyond fcked that fcked would actually be something to aspire to. I think next season could be an absolute fcktastrophe. And as editor of the site I write what I think, that is what I think, and so it brings the tone and the mood down further. Having some people who are positive and are looking forward to it and do think it will go well is, frankly, brilliant, and we need a lot more like it/you.

However, if you're telling me the truth here, your belief in Gareth and positivity is based on nothing more than you lived in Amersham for a bit and you've listened to a few podcasts with them on. That's absolutely fine, until you start demanding higher burdens of proof from the other posters. You're allowed to say you think Taylor Richards might just be misunderstood and will turn out great, Gloucs is allowed to say he thinks he might be an arshole - nobody should have to show their passport and post their LinkedIn profile to have either opinion.

If you were only allowed to comment on Gaz's tactics if you'd managed a Championship game before... If you're only allowed to comment on Taylor Richards if you know him personally... It... wouldn't be much of a message board would it?

Fair points, and thank you for the kind reassuring comments.
I guess the further bit of "credentials" I should share in relation to that is that the Wycombe outreach obviously meant that I built connections with the club, although they were John Gregory/John Gorman time, so pre-GA.
However, I have chatted to Ollie about GA and RD on a several occasions, but nothing really is worth divulging from said conversations that the two haven't themselves stated directly elsewhere.
I apologise in relation to Jordan specifically, and you might have seen that I've just apologised to him directly. My aim is to always hold myself accountable before I post, which is why I only post when I feel that anything I do write is worth saying (of course, as you rightly point out, others may disagree - and frequently do!)
Anyway, I'm truly sorry and sad that you feel as you do for next season, but I've seen organisational change and transformation programmes undertaken that literally transform mindsets and peformance levels overnight. This is why I'm a massive Richard Dobson fan in particular. I genuinely believe that if he is given the freedom to implement them with the playing staff and is endorsed/encouraged to present them at board level and/or to the Academy staff, you will see things improve far beyond the level that you could imagine as you look at it now.
Anyway on that note, I will leave everyone in peace for the rest of the afternoon and wish everyone a stress-free weekend!!
