To the answer the original question, didn't Karl Read register on here under a different name fairly recently and start a thread along the lines of "was Karl Ready really that bad?" and you all teed off on the poor bastard for three or four pages before realising it was actually him? Maybe that was a fever dream.

No idea why any player who wasn't absolutely beyond criticism would go on a fans' forum and read people talking about how terrible they are. As a writer, I get people on Twitter saying I'm crap, and that's only at a fraction of the scale sportspeople get, and I often find that hard. Imagine reading five pages of people taking you apart. It would be awful.
