Out of contract strikers... 12:59 - Sep 8 with 3471 viewsDoudou87

West London Sport have hinted at GA looking for an out of contract striker. Chris Martin is the obvious choice but what else is out there?

Good site below listing all the out of contact players.

Got a horrible feeling about Conor Wickham after reading that. Someone to keep JCS and Taylor Richards company in the physio room at least.

I saw Andre Gray is off to Saudi so it wont be him coming back!

Have we had a one-name player since Doudou? We could pick Denitnho (Little Teeth), Sly...or nice, reliable Alan.

Page 4, 33-year-old Brazilian last seen banging them in now and then in the Thai 2nd Division...Pitbull.

Probably more to do with all his TV and film work coming to an abrupt end, but Leon Clarke is available.

The ghost of Chris Martin just won't disappear. Clive must be having cold sweats.

Where is Idrissa Sylla when you need him?

One of his all-time favourites Loyal Taylor also available.

Does Sandro (shudder) count?

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Good point. Best forgotten. Pitbull couldn’t have made less impact.

Chris Martin seems an obvious choice to cover Dykes with Armstrong playing off him

An obvious choice for a waste of money maybe.

Bare bones.

To be fair to Martin he called it right about the attitude of the players at the club last season and with his experience and attitude I'd say he'd tie in well with Colback, Begovic and Cook in turning the boys in to a team of lads who want to play for the club rather than themselves.

Sammy Koejoe not on the list, but great laugh watching him run

Chris Martin is exactly what we do and don’t need.

He was right, and he did a great job for us.
But we cannot keep chucking money down a black hole. We needed him last season, arguably we would have gone down without him. If he's still what will keep us up this season, then we have huge problems. As you say we now have Colback, Begovic, Fox and Cook. That hole in our squad has been filled.

Bare bones.

However, ultimately we are going to struggle with Dykes (unless he wears his Scotland kit) and Armstrong who may become a goal machine but really isn't at all yet.

Never knowingly right.

They need someone to cover Dykes, off that list he seems the best option.

From that list, the best option IMO would be not to sign any of them & go with what we have!

Dykes, Armstrong, Kelman and Kolli is a shockingly inexperienced and unproven frontline for a whole season with a distinct lack of goals in it. But with the recent positivity I’m inclined to think fk it and give it a go. Watching Kolli somehow win headers in the dying minutes against Boro was balm for the soul

Did Kolli really win one, head it to a teammate or get the ball under any sort of control? Maybe I missed it but all I saw in both games he came on was him running around a lot and putting the defenders under pressure.

Not really, he won two or three flick ons to nobody, but given he looks like an Oompa Loopah with a microphone on his head up against hardened Champ centre backs I was impressed

Armstrong is the cover for dykes isnt he? If our fans really think spending precious wage money on a 34yo who no one else has decided to pick up so he can be our third choice striker, i honestly give up.
