The high totals of Ipswich, Leicester, Leeds and Southampton are reasons for a lower total being required for safety.

We have 4 from top 10 in our last 6 matches.
6 pts from Owls and Plymouth would be very nice.
52 would keep us up huh?

One of the crazier things about this Championship season is that Cardiff, still with an outside shot at the playoffs, have lost TWO MORE games than Huddersfield, who are in the relegation zone.

If Huddersfield go down, their inability to turn draws (16 of them!) into wins is going to be why. With no more obvious example needed than their game against us.

I've been playing with the Fishy predictor again. Predicting only our games, so letting their form algorithm do the rest, 2 points from any of our remaining games sees us safe. Obviously irl anything could happen, but I do feel moderately confident still that we will survive in the Championship this season.

Rotherham relegation confirmed but still a 30% chance of finishing outside the bottom 3 according to that - or am I missing something?

Each day I look at the remaining fixtures and see all around us playing each other which has to be an advantage ( ever the optimist) to the point that theoretically we already have enough points ( which we don’t have). So basically I have no idea, a win or draw tonight would make me feel better.

It says "100" for Rotherham ending in position 24, so yes, you are missing something

It's thrown out the below for me by just doing that..... Christ alive I would not want to rely on this!!
Has us staying up by virtue of a point against Preston but what I didn't do was the GD input

20 QPR 46 -14 47
21 Stoke 46 -23 47
22 Millwall 46 -21 46
23 Birmingham 46 -22 46
24 Rotherham 46 -50 30

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Just done the predictor on here https://thefishy.co.uk/calculator0.php?competition=2
including all the teams up to Blackburn (excluding Rotherham) and had Brum second last and SW third last down on GD.

I’ve also get Brum and Weds to go down, 4th bottom Huddersfield on 47 points.
I’ve said it before and I still think 46 will give you safety although I wouldn’t want to risk it!

I've done it on outlandishly bad results for us, ie everyone else maxing out and us losing all games, and got the team staying up at 21st with 53 points.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

I think we need another 3 points from remaining games…1 point at Plymouth Hull and home to Preston..or freak win v Leeds/Coventry

The good news is that the non-exchange bookies still have us unchanged at around 9/1 or 10/1 to go down.

It's because if you really examine the fixtures, it makes you realise the table is a bit better than it looks.

Mainly because as there are a few sides below us, rather than a huge points gap, there are a few games where they play each other and also a few pretty tough games for them (although after tonight perhaps Leicester and Leeds aren't that tough).

I'm not saying we are safe but I just filled in the thingy pretty pessimistically, giving us 0 more points and thinking lots of teams below will do better than you think....and we stayed up by two positions and 2 points.

I'm not saying we are safe, but although it seems odd looking at the table, if I didn't support QPR and I was analysing it I would be confident in saying we have enough points.

I would be nervous, of course, if we get no more but if you offered me 1 more point I think that will be enough.

But with that man in goal, it seems tricky.

I can understand that because:

(1) We have a 4 point buffer with only 4 games remaining.
(2) Overall our form has been ok of late.
(3) Whilst we have a tough run of fixtures to come, we have no more 6-pointers (thank god). Conversely, quite a few of our relegation rivals play each other over the coming weeks so something has to give.

Tomorrow
Swansea v Stoke

13th April
Sheffield Wednesday v Stoke

20th/21st April
Huddersfield v Swansea
Stoke v Plymouth
Blackburn v Sheffield Wednesday

27th April
Huddersfield v Birmingham
Millwall v Plymouth

4th May
Swansea v Millwall

I kind of agree - the number of head-to-heads between teams below us should be our saving grace.
