I thought the Madrid players played for each other as a collective unit. As per the last couple of seasons in the Champions League, they appeared to understand their limitations going forward and played to their strengths, being the ability to work together to soak up pressure.

Perfect tactics by Madrid for the occasion. City have scored three goals in just about every Champions League game this season including doing it in Madrid. If they attacked City tonight then chances are City would score three again so parking the bus to deny them the space was sensible. Once Madrid got the early goal they could sit back. It's been going on for years. Even during matches the commentators prioritise the favoured teams. Even when they're losing the other team is barely mentioned. It's all about what Chelsea or Man U need to do to get back into the match, not why the other team are winning. I barely watch the Prem these days as it does my head in.
It's becoming like Formula 1 except instead of which team having the best car, it's which team has spent the most money. That and the fact they are allowed to hoover up all the best youngsters and then loan them out to the teams that should have had a chance to develop them is killing football across the divisions. |  | | |

The media has always been the same, even pre-Sky. When we won 4-1 at Old Trafford the "expert" was Dennis Law, and he barely mentioned QPR. It was all about the pitch, the wind, the rain, voodoo bad luck......
Or Match of the Day about 3 matches into Ferdinand's move to Newcastle. "He's really improved since the move".
Or Darren Peacock a few matches into Newcastle career - suddenly MOTD asking why he wasn't being considered for England.
