The Next Two Games is the Season - Shittu and Dou Dou Time 13:27 - Apr 3 with 2060 views | numptydumpty | If we lose both, we truly are in the mucky stuff !!! Even two, three or four points from Cardiff at home, and Oxford away and I feel we are safe. Zero points with rivals claiming three points on us, time to realise having Charlie Kelman up front, is the best option next season, as he would be proven at the level we will be playing . Squeaky Bum Time Indeed !!! [Post edited 3 Apr 13:29]

The Next Two Games is the Season - Shittu and Dou Dou Time on 14:00 - Apr 3 with 1707 views | stainrods_elbow | I'm certainly nervous! Can easily see us losing one or both. Don't trust the players or the coaching team. Is anyone ITK about who (if anyone) is likely to be back on Saturday? If it's the same kind of set-up as v Stoke, my pulse will be slowing to the pace of a Morgan Fox shuffle.

From random rumours, which probably means diddly squat, Cook, Kolli and Frey may be available enough for some minutes !!! Rest of the injured heroes not going to be near selection for either of these games... For me Kolli is the most important player to return. Ie He actually has some ability to put the ball into the back of the net - seems to be quite an important role in football - who would have thought it !!! [Post edited 3 Apr 14:13]

A really good point made by Andy/Jeff on our most recent Patreon pod. We're currently in a spiral looking for a moment or a result or something to crack us out of the doom loop. One of the easiest things to grasp onto with that is the return of an injured player. We've basically been doing that since August. Oh we just need JCS/Chair/Frey/Cook/Colback/Dembele back and we'll be fine. Now it's combinations of Field, Cook and Kolli. It's hard enough for a player coming back from an injury to rebuild match fitness and sharpness mid-season anyway. For them to come back cold into a losing side and make a game changing difference is a big ask. And probably why so many on that list have subsequently got injured again. I like Kolli. I'll be glad when he's back. But he's a kid. If we're relying on his impact over the last half dozen games to keep us up we're gonna have a problem.

It all feels like the Beale/Ainsworth season when for weeks we just needed one win to calm it down with injured players coming back and it just kept getting worse

Absolutely. The difference being a lot of those injured players weren't really injured, they just couldn't be arsd, and they were absolute fcking wnkrs a lot of them so were never going to help when they were "fit" anyway. This lot don't seem like a bad bunch, they're just not very good - though, again, that doesn't really help us. I'd feel a lot better if Cook and Field were to play the majority of the remaining games.

If we are relying on our experienced "pros" like Colback and Fox to show everyone how to do it, then I think we are equally in some trouble. I think this self inflicted situation has as much to do with contracts, as it does injuries. A lot of these players are not going to be at QPR next year, and their number one priority is avoiding serious injury, aside from Jimmy Dunne, who upto the last game seemed to be running at 100% still

For once, it is about getting a striker ANY striker in the game. Not sure I can face Dembele and Smyth rotating the lone forward role in the Championship. If we still have no Frey, Kolli or Lloyd starting on Saturday, I will fear the worst even against teams as poor as Cardiff and Oxford.

I never understand the mentality of players that they are out of contract so they phone it in, it's clear that happens but which club is looking at Kenneth Paal at the moment saying he's the man for us, It must put clubs off

I get it, They don't want to end up like Rangel Angel, play some meaningless game, get injured and then never play again. As for players getting clubs, Roberts, Richards, and Dozzell all seem to find a contract, so there are plenty of silly clubs out there. We even sold Dykes for a million and he's scored as many league goals for us (Sheff U away) as he has for Brum in a lower league for a better team in that league in the whole season ... so far. Even Celar has more league goals than him and he's been injured and does not run. Look at us. We signed an injured player who cannot play until next season in Dale. The last time that gamble paid off was Rowlands, but we have had others where it has not. The classic, Sturridge and Dyer and now Richards. This won't be the end of stupid transfers by clubs, as someone always thinks they are Warnock, who can get the next Adel on the cheap!

After listening to lots of Undr the Cosh, I think its mostly down to money. If you have a poor injury record you earn less money on the whole, so the free agents really are phoning it in to avoid injury. Just doing enough to not look like an idiot, but not actually ever hitting more than 70% The trouble is when there are more than two or three players on the pitch at the same time we look diabolical. This is the kind of rot that sets into any workplace, we've all looked at a co-worker getting away with loads and think "If they can't be bothered, then neither can I" and this is where we end up. What I don't get, is, say I was a free agent. I've got x7 opportunities to show a prospective employer exactly how good I am. It could mean the difference between playing at Southampton next season, or Rotherham. Surely that could motivate someone. Unless, as I suspect, most of the time deals are already done and a lot of players already have an idea where they are going next year (as long as they are fit)...

It's called clutching at straws and am not saying he would make a difference but the thing is he could. A line up last week. The outcome was decided when the teamsheets were exchanged Kolli has performed admirably at home and possesses an attitude and self belief.i think he has the ability too. Appreciate it's a lot on young shoulders but where exactly are we to look for our winners - Edwards and Yang perhaps - who aren't even our players.... From this analysis it appears we have a very weak squad...... Straw clutching required but our squad is decimated and Kolli is one of our few hopes like a,plan where no o5her exist !!! Also, in football, once you've done well for a bit you're almost in for life. There's always a manager who thinks he can "get him right" contrary to all contrary medical advice. We've had dozens of these. Dean Sturridge. Kieron Dyer...

It's a sad story Feel sad for the guy myself Clearly extremely talented but hates fame The money side of football feels everyone has a right to attack players online but clearly it can create severe mental health issues, which clearly this poor guy has in abundance It's very sad he has a switch where life is meaningless, and he doesn't care if he lives or dies, but he needs help not criticism. Whatever we think of footballers performances etc, they are people with their own troubles and they all generally very young also. Sometimes,we need to be mindful of this. I remember Brandon Williams, decent player. Good luck to him.

Well said. When Ray Harford was here he told Dave Thomas of a footballer he once worked with, a famous footballer with the world seemingly at his feet, who when driving would look at walls and trees and calmly weigh up if he would or should drive into them. For some, the pressure is clearly overwhelming.
