Mistake to regard any one league game as more important. No must win games in early April. Still 21 points up for grabs. Chill. Wait for a bit of luck and enjoy the game.
the earlier the points are on the table from the last 8 games the better.
no points from the first 6, you lose the last two, your f....ed.
Another game where Lloyd is the only recognised 'striker' we have available. No Chair/Saito and Dembele is still feeling his way back. Best of luck with that, Marti.

WLS reporting Field is fit but not Cook and Frey, and that Kolli has suffered a setback.
Just hope Cifuentes has the courage to play a forward up front for this game, albeit Lloyd or one of the Development Squad.
Yep, just watched Marti's pre match interview and he said the same. It'll have to be Lloyd as striker. The DS strikers are on loan and I don't think they'd be better than Lloyd anyway.

If anyone is at a loose end and requires a ticket in the paddocks (free, yes free) do give me a dm. Can't make the game but don't want to see the ticket go to waste...

I agree that he should start, but we have no idea what Lloyd we'll get tomorrow.
In cameos this season he's been a physical prescence and hard worker, away at Hull he made a big difference and was probably ahead of Kolli at that point. Other times he looks like Sunday league would be a stretch... Big opportunity tomorrow and I hope he has the game of his life

That is how I see him as well.
He has to start & I don't think we lose out if Sutton (or perhaps Dillon) are named as a substitute either. They couldn't do any worse than what was on offer in the first half at Stoke & Middlesbrough

He would have to be a miracle worker to get anything out of it with the team he’ll be able to put out tomorrow.

Dillon is on loan at Enfield Town but I agree we might see Sutton in the squad.

0-0 or 1-1 but I can see us losing this. But I usually get the score predictions wrong. Come on rangers put us out of our misery with a win.
If it really is just Lloyd available up front the best we can hope for is a draw. Got not issue with Alfie he is learning his trade but bit much to expect him to be our saviour. But I he does well tommorow.

So long as Lloyd is given the green light by the medical team of course he starts. He’s not much cop, but Cifuentes isn’t going to by choice start a 5’4 winger up top.

Cardiff are awful
We.have been awful
A messy dull fest
Bore draw
Not according to our coach, who 'explains':
'They have the capacity to change from game to game, to adjust a lot to the opposition, but at the same time, they've got some quality players, players that have pace to build counters, as well as players that are reliable when it comes to being aggressive in and out of possession.'
I know football has more spin than Hotpoint, but that is frankly sub-Ainsworthesquely embarrassing in its attempt to manage our expectations downwards. It also makes me wonder what he's telling the players!
Why not say 'they are where they are for a reason, and we need to make sure we impose our game, stretch them where we know they're vulnerable, and for the first time in f*cking weeks look like we're a football team that gives a toss. Do that, and we'll beat them!'?

Chiar and Saito are obviously big misses, but other than that we're a (limited) striker short and a central defender light (who we actually managed quite well without before now). Field is also back to add to Dembele's return. Its not ideal, but it's hardly an emergency (and shouldn't be an excuse not to show up)! Let's hope they do!
Working backwards from the final whistle and what is required to ease some of the anxiety and nerves.
Score first and I think we get a result, which is all we need from this game. Don’t let Cardiff close the gap in any way = success.
How we do that - most likely from a set piece, unlikely to be in open play.
If they score first, I feel we lose.
Three CBs at the back gives us another threat for set plays as well as better cover for the full backs and set pieces against us. Provides more width if we select wingbacks and better cover for midfield too if we choose to defend in a low block.
No more passing out from Nardi. Get forward directly and win throws, corners and free kicks that allow us to load their box. Thinking Alfie from Hull - he knows how to do that if we give him the service and instructions.
Two different set ups - one with and one without the ball, as we had when we used to win games. We actually know how to do it and it works effectively. Not sure I enjoy watching the block BUT I’d rather we did that than concede goals.
Will we do that ? Not sure I have the confidence we will but it seems like a simple fix to solving what we need - for now anyway. Leadership on the pitch and more effective substitutions will make a big difference for sure, Field back would help a lot, even for 30mins if we are holding on.
Can the players execute it ? Dunno but it is possible and I’m hoping for the best.
(Disclaimer - I know hope is not a strategy but quite frankly, that’s what we are left with at this stage of the campaign)
Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

I cant see anything other than another defeat, we are in appalling form and there is a clear lack of desire from the majority of the players who are actually fit to play, add in bizarre team selections and tactics and it's a recipe for relegation.

And make that our mode of wish-fulfillment . . .
Talk about "spin", what's more embarassing is you putting your ususal conspiracy theorist's negative interpretation on the manager's words, which I would respectfully suggest tell us more about your particular state of mind than anything else.
Paul Morrison asked Marti what he saw Cardiff's strengths and dangers as being, and he gave, as he always does, a precise and technical analysis.
I'm sure most of us would be more concerned if he came out with some Redknapp-type bollox along the lines that you're suggesting.
