Thinking about the furore over banning Macabi fans from Villa and the recent cancellation of the TelAviv derby between Macabi which attracts right wing fans and Hapoel which attracts left wing fans.
Does England have any clubs that have a recognised left wing following - i.e. in the style of St Pauli?
I think of us a genuinely integrated, community focussed club but apolitical.

100%

The fight has always been between the wealthy elite and the rest of us. Its just designed to keep us fighting amongst ourselves. Its also pretty damn obvious who is winning, and its not us.

The culture war is heavily pushed as a means to divert the majority of people from realising that they should be engaged in a class war.

To quote the old country song “ Lefty was right after all”.

Left wing, right wing, ok they're relevant, but it's all about the mid-field in my book.

Poll: Thank God The Seaons Over.

This is spot on. I just wish more people would see it for what it is.

Can't be bothered with all the right v left nonsense. Two cheeks of the same arse.

For me it's only right and wrong. The tribalism of it is 100% worse than years back. I guess social media plays a big part. Luckily most of the crap is online and most normal people are just trying to get by for thier family and aren't interested in the nonsense.

My mixed race nephew hates both sides. He says the far right don't like him because of his skin colour and the far left try to tell him how he should think and feel because of his skin colour. He sees both sides as racist.

Social media has magnified it so much. It used to be confined to newspapers, so if you didn't read them you didn't have to put up with it. Or that annoying bloke in the pub that was easy enough to avoid.

Now we are absolutely bombarded via social media. You can barely look at the usual social media sites and apps without being bombarded with this stuff. Phone snatching, pickpockets, shoplifting, flag waving marches etc, etc, etc. Everyone be afraid, and blame each other. And everyone has a phone so its very far reaching.

There's a guy on tiktok etc that used to do loads of interesting travel stuff visiting different parts of the world and showing you what these places are like. I used to watch him because the content was genuinely good. All of a sudden in the last few weeks his stuff has turned far right and its all about the immigrants and countries being swarmed with them. He's clearly recently decided this is where the money is and there wasn't even a hint of this in his previous stuff.

There's a reason why billionaires want control of the popular social media outlets, and it certainly isn't to help improve the lives of ordinary people, whatever ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or anything else they are.

And it's not factory workers v doctors and solicitors, it's almost all of us against the super rich and those who serve them. The problem is they have all the money and nearly all of the media.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

Indeed. But of course the upside of social media is that different views to the usual media stories can be found too. There's the fantastical and conspiratorial stuff but also the thoughtful and alternative stuff as well. At the moment, Zak Polanski's use of social media is increasingly cutting through effectively.

True but it currently seems to be overwhelmed by divisive content.

This is the real issue for me - over 150 billionaires in the UK. One of them worth 35 Billion!. That’s 35 Thousand million. Of course they don’t want us taking about it. There are lots of overpaid jobs maybe, but to class anyone earning 6 figures in the same place as these is exactly what they want us to do.

The greatest trick the capitalist class every pulled was convincing the workers that they weren't engaged in a class war.

150 billionaires? Wow. Man City's squad is bigger than I thought.

'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'

One of the yardsticks used to demonstrate the ever tightening grip the obscenely rich have is the discrepancy between the wealth held by them in 2000 compared to the wealth held by them in 2025. A desire to see fairness in wealth distribution isn't born of the politics of envy or jealousy, it is born of the politics of empathy and a desire that everyone gets to live a decent life without fear of poverty, hunger or homelessness. If the richest people in the world are spending their money on building rockets to Mars then maybe they aren't contributing sufficiently towards a better society.
