Burrell does need a rest. I’m thinking Monday. Start Kone, play Dembele behind him, chair and Poku on flanks. Bring on Burrell for last 30 mins. Means our tried and tested front 2 are ready and rested for January fixtures…..including West Ham!

Ha ha . Yes that will be annoying . But it highlights my point in a way that JS has to find another way for us to pose a threat, of some description , on the odd occasion that Burrell is not on the pitch / completely blowing out of his backside. His all round game yesterday was poor . He looked absolutely spent . Could we push Smyth up there to threaten getting in behind ? Not sure , but he would need support from a ‘Kone’ rather than Frey. We could probably put a shirt on a grandfather clock right now and it contribute as much as Frey is .

The answer was standing behind me in the away end yesterday. Big hair, you might know him.

So then Clive, did you ask him the 2 burning questions: 1) is he injured 2) Is he off in January

Hardly going to be sitting in the away end if he’s off in January is he. Come on now. Reported as injured, now back in training. Should get his chance, assuming he can stay fit.

Well, that would be an immense shame on the club and certain individuals. Quite literally one of our own, and the youngster with the highest ceiling and resale value. You’d get a limited amount now vs future full value. Doesn’t make any strategic sense. Whatsoever.

Fair play superhoops. Still, something doesn’t really add up to me… Would be delighted to see Kolli get some game time.

On no not with the conspiracy theories now Lassel’s thrown in a bit of poison. Look at JCS and Poku. We’ve been extremely cautious about bringing them back a) because it’s bit us in the bum before, remember Willock, and b) because we can, having enough players on the sidelines to cover for us. I don’t know why because he’s only very young still but he’s uber-prone to breaking down with various muscle issues. I can’t remember him playing more than 8-9 games without having some kind of issue. Surely it’s more likely that we’re bringing him back slowly than that we’re deliberately holding him back. I’m sure it does happen but in this case he’s been injured. If we did want to sell him wouldn’t we want him showcasing his ability on the pitch? And if he really was disaffected I’m not sure he’d be in that horrible Portsmouth stand even if they were making him go to the game. Of course it could be machinations and he might be offski. But him not playing now is not convincing evidence of it. Meanwhile another option is to bring Morgan in as a replacement for Burrell playing behind Kone. Obviously not a like for like replacement but he could bring us up the pitch, he’s always showing for the ball and got a decent amount of energy for the press. Smyth and Poku could provide some pace down the wings. I would’ve tried that for the Portsmouth match. I know we’re not allowed to say it but we were unlikely to get more than a point down there. Would have preferred not to flog Burrell to death for that one match as I think we’d be better off saving him for WBA, which I think suits him better anyway, and Norwich at home.

Come on Nix - Get a grip... Some here much prefer the conspiracy theory, or worse still that the club is lying, and the man that only a few years ago had never been in the know in his life, now seems to be ITK all things related to our club. We keep saying that its a positive thing that Poku, JCS and probably Kolli are being managed back from injuries but some don't want to believe that either. It is all rather tiresome

Yeah I know. And vaccinations are all designed to kill us. The Democrats swindle all elections. The EU produced more bureaucracy than incessant customs forms. Oh, and the CIA carried out 9/11. Silly me. Of course some crazy theories end up being true. But some people just love a conspiracy way more than is healthy.
| Pompey match thread on 12:11 - Dec 28 with 143 views | TK1 | We are going to have to sell players. If everyone wants to sign Ronnie Edwards, an upgraded keeper, perhaps RND or his equivalent, QPR will need to sell players. And they will be popular players, because nobody wants to pay money for QPR's unpopular players. They'll be players many want to see more of, Kolli, Field, perhaps Smyth. I would be amazed if they're not being offered to clubs, along with other fringe first teamers. Of course they are. I didn't want QPR to sell Sinclair Armstrong, nor Charlie Kelman. Thought it a mistake to sell homegrown players so early in their careers. I was wrong. They'd never match Kone or Burrell. Kolli looked a good player in glimpses. But they're glimpses. Perhaps enough to make some money from. And maybe the club have someone else in mind, someone better. I think the club's recent dealings have earned them some faith on this either way. It'll be a football decision, though. | | | |

If someone is stupid enough to give us enough for Varane to fund Edwards and RND that would be tremendous business IMO. Can’t see it playing out like that.

It'll be Field and/or Kolli, maybe Smyth. Varane feels a bit integral to be a January sale.
