| Pompey match thread on 19:51 - Dec 26 by ParkRoyalR | Madsen was totally MIA in the 1st Half, didn't show for the ball and made it look like we were playing with 10 men, Obviously got a rocket at Half Time, as was a changed man from the start of the 2nd Half, showing & looking for the ball, suddenly we were playing with 11 and looked a different team, unfortunately one good quarter doesn't cut it as dropped off again late on, though did make a very decent covering challenge, If this Squad it to fulfil its potential we need 90 minutes like that third quarter most weeks, the odd cameo won't see us troubling the Play Offs. |
Hard to say who was at fault for that first half as it was such a clown show all over but when we’re playing like we have no midfield defensively I’m putting that on Varane mainly. Saito was again anonymous, the ball rarely stuck when played up to the forwards, Mbengue was breezed past. Second half I moved to a spot with a considerably worse view and it all seemed fine.

Perhaps Nourry and Stephane can explain why the fans who attended shouldn't have half their money refunded as his team could only manage to play half a game (again)? Our away showings are really becoming shameful. |
To be fair Stainrod, I was there and would not have needed a refund either amnd the game from our perspective was far from shameful. Having lived in Pompey for several years in days gone by, am very aware of the Pompey home fans effect, on Portsmouth always generally being very strong at home. So a point after a much improved second half display was reasonable for me. Yes its a drop from the Leicester game but you dont win every game thay way and Pompey finished 16th to our 15th last season, perhaps an away point is ok, if the wins keep coming at home.

I'm inclined to agree. The first half was agony, even watching on QPR + with the benefit of some Scottish anxiety medicine. 2nd half much better from the off. A point at Pompey ain't bad really, they're better than their league position suggests.
