There's been the odd light spot of drizzle in West London today (ahem),wonder what our pitch looks like.
Lucky we are away for the time being.

I now have a hole in my roof which has been leaking for a week, thankfully got some people coming around today as it’s absolutely going to pelt it down tomorrow and I’m still anxious if the repair will do its job.
The guy is 100% confident it’ll be fine as it’s a routine repair but I’ve never been through this before.

At least it’s not snow, unlike Sunday.

Been a bit warmer too.

Wonder what Michael Fish thinks.

"Beryl from East Grinstead has rung in, and concerned about a hurricane, dont worry Beryl, it will be a mild breeze only."

Well you can't blame Ann Peebles or Eruption.
She/they can't stand the stuff.

Was it a contact injury ?

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

When are they lifting the hose ban?

Well, I've stocked up just in case they don't.

My roof has been (fingers crossed) fixed now. I did say to the guy how confident was he it would be OK what with the heavy rain due tomorrow and he said "pay me a third now and the rest once you're satisfied there's no leak. If it does leak tomorrow, call me straightaway".

I thought that was quite refreshing as most would probably say it's all OK, ask for full payment then don't return your calls when you have Niagara Falls in your loft.

Drove from Midlands to Portsmouth, via Horsham. Cats and Dogs most of the way. Plenty of lying water. Floods almost.

Do you mind asking which areas does your roofer cover?

I'm looking for one, decent ones are hard to find.

Cheers

The tradesman is a keeper, someone in an ever decreasing number within the industry. I've employed his type of business policy my whole working life, personally rewarding and pays big dividends in the end. Everyone who works for or with me knows my position re customer service / satisfaction, yet even today I had to 'roast' an employee for adopting the 'tail light guarantee' on a small repair job we were performing. It's effing piss off to think if I hadn't shown up on the job he'd have walked away and said nothing.

FYI - a tail light guarantee refers to a contractor who's liability ends when you can no longer see their truck lights.
