I have hardly hid that I'm not convinced at all by this manager, but, surely, people will agree this interview is just so deflating. Just repeats his 'we have to learn' mantra, without giving any insight at all into WHAT we - and as importantly HE - is learning. His inability to even acknowledge the collapsed 2nd half and self-defeating backfootedness that in the end handed Wrexham the game is seriously worrying. He just looks in a comfort zone to me and speaks in the same cliches again and again.

We'll see what Coventry brings next time out, but 'I think it will be difficult for the players' is hardly fighting talk, is it? How does that rally anyone? I wouldn't back him to 'find a solution' right now if a memo reading 'this is the solution' were taped to his head!

Meanwhile, I've given up asking for standards because this coach, and this club, just don't show me any.

Hope everyone goes out tonight and does lots of enjoyable non-QPR things.

How many times does it have to be said that a manager is not going to publicly slag off their team, unless they’re vying for the sack.

Don’t bother watching any pre or post match interviews, they’re worthless.

I do always think that what coaches and managers say to interviewers is very different to what they say to their players behind closed doors, but who knows?

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

O please - where did I say he should be 'slagging off the team'? Please pay my thread at least a modicum of respect. I'll explain it again to you as best I can.

I was asking about what the team - and what JS - is learning, in the absence of any expressed content in regard to same.

I was suggesting that his inability to acknowledge the team played the entire 2nd half too deep and invited Wrexham on (according to many views expressed here) is worrying - obviously, it was beyond Tyler to ask him about it either.

Finally, I was pointing out that it was hardly a drumroll of encouragment to tell us/the team a week before Coventry that the players will find it 'very difficult'.

If you'd care to respond to my points properly and share any insights into them, I'll be delighted. If not, you could just go on attacking your fictive image of me, and I'll ignore it.

He says the same thing game after game. I sort of expect that Julien will just be here for one season and will move on in the Summer by mutual agreement, most likely to a French or European team, and we will be looking for our next manager. We might even be lucky and some French team will pay a bit of compensation to take him off our hands.

I think all we could hope for is for JS to admit he didn't manage the substitutions well. Disappointing he didn't do that.

Which is what I mean: We never learn what he's learning - or, indeed, if he's even learning anything.

It would be lovely to have a club interviewer who actually asks the manager how he's getting better and how he assesses his own performance, but I guess it's more important to feed him leading questions like 'is it now very important to clear our heads and look ahead to Coventry?' that let everyone off the hook!

And then people wonder why we're so inept/mediocre, week after damn week!

I just don't get what people see in him. The style of football is uninspiring (boot it up to Kone), we're heading for our usual position in the table and his famed ability to manage three-game weeks has yielded another two points this time round. Even winning on Tuesday would make today slightly more bearable but he couldn't get a goal in 180 minutes against Oxford.

The collapse since that first half against Leicester (even before the injuries) will only continue next week. The thought of him being in charge next season is very depressing as it will be more of the same.

I don’t think being condescending to another poster is necessary Stainrod.

We all have our views and should be comfortable sharing them.

Yeah, it's actually the other way round, mate! Go back and look at his post -'how many times does it have to be said' etc. I was trying to do a favour by explaining my points to him again in case he had anything constructive to say.

Hope that clarifies.

Thanks for the clarification Stainrod. I guess I read it without any personal history between you both and just a viewpoint.

I just take a managers comments as a necessary requirement, I’m sure they’re equally fed up with doing them and you can only say so much without sounding the same week in week out. We’d probably all complain if we didn’t hear from them.

I don't think there's any harm in constructive criticism when it's merited. He could've said that for the most part he was pleased with performance but was disappointed with the reaction of the team to the red card.

I don’t recall saying anywhere that’s what you said.
It was a figure of speech, to imply managers are not going to publicly criticise players (“praise in public, criticise in private”), plus, an employee of the club is not going to ask questions that will make a senior colleague look awkward/uncomfortable/stupid.

As said, these interviews just go through the motions and I don’t think is worth taking too much from them. It’s tabloid.

I thought the powers that be had a game model they wanted to see from the youngsters up to the first team. Surely this is not it, so what the hell are we doing with this manager ? He must go in my opinion, we need a manager who will get us playing positive football. We seem more concerned in keeping our shape, sit deep and play on the counter, even at home. Players don't seem to have any freedom to attack in numbers. When the back four have the ball, they look for a pass but I don't see the midfield dropping to receive it, so we get closed down and have to go long, lose the ball and it all breaks down. We never seem to press the opposition, so they have the freedom to pass the ball at will, while we shuffle across the pitch marking space. Maybe we just don't have good enough players to play a good passing game, with players moving into space to receive the ball, turn and move forward, and it's all so bloody frustrating watching from the stands.

Our midfield is seriously undercooked. Madsen is OK, and that's about it.

In Burrell's absence, we are very static in the centre of attack.

The full backs and wingers also are often poor with their delivery. Mbengue crosses the ball like someone who's never played the game at any level.

I just feel we lack the three or four grounded, consistent Champ footballers who can get us on the ball and motoring up the pitch. As Dave Mc said, Chair is a massive miss, who seems to have been out for ever.

Lose to Coventry, and we'll be as close to 16th again as dammit. It seems to be our destiny.

Marti was a great fit. He found a way more than a few times when we looked to be in hot water. Seems to be going the other way under JS's team.

Marti lost to Oxford today a team everybody who watched them Tuesday night were wondering when they would win again if ever .
Think he was a better fit here than JS to be honest but today was the first real gut punch/kick in the balls we have recieved in a while leading until the last few kicks .

At his last club it was reported he run out of ideas or made things to complicated for players to understand . Not sure since he arrived he had any ideas , decent ish start then since then it’s been pretty crap , the club said we wanted somebody who could handle the fan,ed three game weeks better , we wanted somebody who could bring the young players through ,,what they meant was we wanted somebody desperate for a Jo who wouldn’t say no sir, and we got him . Add absent defensive coach on match days ? Staff reporting to the ceo , and last of all our Lycra clad super physio who makes Fred west look like a contender for the Chelsea flower shower in garden design.

We have been bent over numerous times this season losing by 3 goals or more , we are bloody awful to watch away from home with little in the way of attacking being shown . Any other club he would be waiting fro a knock on the door and a cardboard box being handled to him . Beicae he’s a yes man he’s safe as houses , we aren’t going. Down so club will say look at us look at the. Progress we have made (15th) look at the money we have made in player ????? look at all the youngsters who have made it into the first team .

Big disappointment/ failure that there was no reaction from the bench after the red card. Looked like a no-brainer to me, hook Kone and bring on Ronnie, see out the 4 mins and drag the result over the line. It baffles my mind how we continued with a defender short and paid the price.

Mentioned this in the other thread, but we used up all of our windows so couldn't make any subs at that point. You get 3 windows which we used at 64, 74, 82.
