Does that mean JCS is likely to be departing?
I hope so, decent player when fit but only been available for 20% of games since he joined. We have 4 other CB's.
Does have a certain Stefan Johansen and Charlie Austin sort of feel to it, but packaged differently. Taking a decision that's probably not in the best long-term financial interests of the club (not flogging JCS for a few quid) in the hope that this year is finally the year we do something. Fine if we go up - financially ruinous if we don't.

Clearly option 'A' is more likely; therefore, we should sell him.

This all stems from an online rumour. For all we know, no one was even looking at him and, once again, I doubt we’d get much money for him given his injury record. I’d much rather stay optimistic and hope he somehow manages to stay fit and gives us a good season.

I'm still waiting for McCraken to sign, so I won't add JCS to the wait list just yet. Given JCS' injury record, if there was any real interest in him, I really doubt QPR would have risked him up at Ewood Park.
Morrison, however, different story. In my mind it is a question whether they can get someone in to replace him as the cover CB he now is, should he go.

I can’t believe some of the assumed fees people think we’d get (some podcasters/posters saying if we got 2/3/4m would you accept etc).
‘I have a bridge’ etc if you think he’s worth anything near that. JCS is now in the Smyth/Dunne zone of worth far more to us than anyone would ever pay. His transfermarkt value, FWIW, is around 300/400k. Obviously it’s not worth losing him for that.
All feels moot to me anyway. If we’ve noticed he can’t play more than 10-15 games a season I think scouts/data nerds might have as well…

I would rather see Morrison loaned out (properly to a club that would benefit him and us) rather than take a punt on getting a few hundred grand for JCs and see him play a full season for one of our rivals.

I hope so. Stick as we are looks a good idea to me but the 8 and 9 shirts haven’t been assigned yet so something might be still to happen.

What if you as the current owner don't want that high end motor simply sitting on your driveway for 36 weeks of the year, unable to be driven yet still costing you a load of money in insurance, repairs etc? Also, having it on the drive means you cannot get a decent little runner in to help you get about for that large chunk of the year.
If we can get any £££ for him I'd take it. Absolutely fantastic CB when fit n firing but it's been far too "if" for me and not when.

Excellent analogy too and I take your point. Seems all moot now though as JS reckons we are ‘done’. Overall, looks like an excellent window. Couple of unexpecteds in there like Lampty and Cirkin which is always good fun for fans. Another thing I liked was that we got most of our business done nice and early so the new players got a benefit of a pre-season. We definitely seem to be ‘going for it’, but I don’t think this compares to the era of the second coming of Austin and his buddies. Firstly the players we signed permanently were getting near the end off their careers with no resale value. Now, although we have taken a punt on some injury prone players, we would be very unlucky if one of Lamptey, Cirkin, Madson, Verane Vale, Burrell, Poku or Kone didn’t at the very least reimburse us the relatively modest outlay (compared to our rivals) that we have made.
