How is it a L1 stadium? It's bigger than Brentford and Bournemouth who both play in the PL, and before that Luton. Does it need refurbishing? Yes, of course it does, massively in fact, but come off it, it's really not L1. | | | |

Probably more for the Car Giant thread but in terms of capacity and press, corporate, banqueting, conferencing, hospitality, concessions, comfort etc facilities it's league 1. I love the place but even with TV money we'll only be able to make cosmetic changes or hold facilities off site. Bournemouth is the only one that's bucking that trend and they have more options to improve than we'll have. | | | |

Our stadium is awful. Who would build it today?? It's completely unfit for purpose in terms of comfort and sight lines for the vast majority of it.
You cannot let routine and nostalgia cloud the issue. Doing nothing will codemn the club towards drifting to L1 over time and establishing a fierce rivalry with Orient.
Cash starved Rugby League teams have built smart stadia over past couple of decades, Luton are doing it right now. It's total bullshit, misinformation and lies from our owners this century - they simply are NOT trying to build a new stadium, they're talking hot air and taking us for mugs.
I typically put £40ish over the bar for lunch and drinks in pubs when I go to a home game and then zilch at LR. I'd much rather do that at our gaff but it's a complete non-starter due to our absence of concourses, fan zones, space and civilised convivial refreshment provision.
We're 90% filling the home areas on average in another dour, underachieving season peppered with winless streaks and mogadon football.. we could probably increase matchday revenue 50-75% with a well appointed 25K stadium. That 's a massive loss compounding every season we stay put. We simply have to bite the bullet and get it sorted. | | | |

With the exception of capacity, all of the things you listed can be fixed by refurbishing Loftus Rd. As for capacity, well, the post you responded to pointed out various PL clubs with smaller stadia. Loftus Rd is dated, it's awkward, it suffers from under investment, but it absolutely is not a L1 stadium.
