Does assistant ref ever get involved in those decisions. It’s up to the referee to decide whether the ball back to the keeper was deliberate or not. Hence there is always a get out. | | | |

Some do, some don’t. Referee’s preference I think but they’re meant to talk to each other as obviously the lino will have a better view of some things.
The back pass was odd. He must have missed the bloke playing the ball entirely or forgotten the rule as it seems to meet the criteria of what should be considered a back pass. | | | |

All games have an assessor there, but that's often another referee so I guess they are marking their own homework |  | | |

I think because of the league position we're in and there's nothing riding on the games we're being used to either try new refs at the level, or use refs they know aren't really up to it or among the best in the league. |  | | |

a friend of mine has a son, who is trying to work through lower leagues to be a ref, it is a slow process, from what i gather few know the game, rules or are fit enough , he has done games to womens league and development ages (u18ss) | | | |

It just astounds me how many refs give a foul to the defending team in their own box from crosses and corners for the slightest contact, but never gives a penalty to the attacking team for the same in reverse. | | | |
