We’ve been jammed in this shthole league for a decade. We’re currently being invited to celebrate microscopic improvements between a team that finished 15th last year under a manager we’re told was terrible, and a team that finished 15th this year under a manager who is apparently far better in every way. Anybody who dares say… isn’t this a bit sht?… is being set upon.
I hated most of that Redknapp team, and I hated him especially, but I’ll be blowed if I’m not going to enjoy the memory of a last minute winning goal at Wembley.

I just fundamentally don't believe in policing people's joy in what is increasingly a joyless sport. After all, we stayed up a couple of seasons ago with key goals from a guy convicted of smashing someone in the head with a rock. Not much to celebrate at all really is there.
So, should we never do any chants at all then, lest they backfire? Better to stand in silence than embarrass ourselves? We're far from the finest team the world has ever seen. Could be embarrassing if we concede afterwards after all? Please tell me what I'm allowed to enjoy, oh arbiter of Correct Football Enjoyment?

I'm 3000% happy clappy on this one. We have not had many special days in my lifetime (I'm 54) and that is right up there. It was adversity and triumph and played with everyone's emotions. I went with my best friends. Friends I had stood in the loft would marvelling at John Byrnes mullet and Martin Allen's ferocity and friends that love our special club. My dad knowing I would be on the lash sat in another part of the stand with my five year old son. That boy is now a fervent QPR fan and he has live through Fleetwood town away and many others. We need these memories, they bind us together and offer some hope that this tinpot club can once again give us that rush of emotion that that cannot be matched. Everybody you speak to had an excellent angle for the goal . That is because there was not a bad angle. Where ever you were time stood still everything fell silent until the net bellowed and a sound wall was unleashed. I don't really think about Derby or their fans they were just there. You wait till someone mentions our 6-0 win versus Chelsea. I could write a book about John Byrne's goal and the emotions involved in the eternal battle between goiod and evil.
