Gents I don't post much certainly don't start many threads. I think I need to vent. Why does it seem to me that it seems not to matter what manor you are from as what team you support. The arsenal love fest has really brought it home to me. Have seen so so many tops now they have won the league. A bit less after Saturday and a bit less gobby. Seen them in east London in south and the worst in the pavilion pub !! Rammed as well. It was always the way with the "I am a Liverpool fan or man u ect but the local area was rangers when i was younger. Now its just every where just and I don't get it. Almost a million arsenal fans they said. Are we as a club doing something wrong (not winning prob) but I think this applies to most of the smaller london clubs. Probably not Liverpool or Manchester. I just don't fathom how you can follow a club that you have no real geographical link to or family history or something other than they have won somethingor they are big. Just choose and support. Do they really support them, like most of you crazy fools that follow this club.? I am sure.it.was.more localised when.i was younger you never had the pavilion full.of arsenal "fans" I mean the shirts look very new. Can someone explain why or if this goes on else where in the country. ? I hope i explain my annoyance and perplexed state. Was the white horse full.of arsenal the tavern ? for information i am QPR of 85 onwards so was spoilt by the early 90s team. Surely this is an issue for the club to try and change and get the local people supporting. Not having a go.at any one who supports from a distance. I.dint make many games nowadays just some with my boys. If we are not pulling in locals what are we doing wrong. I am Ladbroke Grove based for info as area. Who lives the closest and who the furtherest out.of interest.

I agree with your point on supporting the local side , however despite some small midweek home attendances of 13/14k we averaged 16,840 with most saturday home games sold out or near our current capacity of just 17,500 so we cant actually get that many more in to Loftus road .
Yes but we need to grow and and surly starts with capturing the local people?. What happens when the further out fans get old family's might not carry on the tradition wenneed a local reach out. I get wanting to support a winning side but I you round the corner..I.mean why not one free entry to anyone with a child every season if you live within say 3 mile? Get a lot of new bods through the door ?

A guy I work with is a Manure fan. However, he takes his 2 girls to LR because its free - He does pays for his ticket.
Now his 2 girls literally love QPR, all have shirts etc. Their grandfather who has passed away supported QPR so I guess it skipped a generation but they both love it.
I feel the club is doing a lot to get young supporters in and the next generation of supporters, but it will not happen over night and we dont have the funds or the stadium to increase capacity yet.

I see far too many kids wearing PSG tops now. In fact, there's a PSG club shop around Leicester Square.
That's just a lack of character.
My best mate is a staunch Palace fan and so is his son, that was non-negotiable even though the kid was growing up in Cheam which is basically Chelsea c(o)untry now.
If I had a kid and they were like 'Dad, I now support PSG' I'd be like 'Great! You now also support yourself financially, you little c*nt.'
I was born and bred in Bucks and was there this weekend; I now live in...Edinburgh . While in Bucks this weekend, I was surprised to see a PSG shirt on the neighbour's washing line. Not what I would expect given that the family has English and Irish roots. Glory hunters, tsk.
I started following Rangers because two of my best mates follow them. One of them was brought up in Shepherds Bush and his Rs supporting brother still lives there to this day . He sometimes gets offered free QPR tickets as a thank you for all the volunteer gardening he does in the borough.

I agree with this for the night games when a lot of season ticket holders are unable to attend hence the 13/14k night crowds . We can not get any more people in most saturday games as a sell out means no one else can physically get through the door let alone a load of new fans , still you are thinking along the right lines , hopefully you can make a few more home games next season .

Yes, I grew up south of the river. My best friend in early secondary school was Arsenal and this was during the Terry Neill/Don Howe years, so hardly glory hunting. Ditto my French teacher who would stop a lesson if one of us asked something about Arsenal, though he was Irish (Stapleton/Brady/O'Leary/etc). A bunch of us would go to matches there pretty regularly during the George Graham years.
tbh never minded them; just can't stand the style of football they play now and the narrative around it. Jonathan Wilson excusing them like they're some plucky non-league team - they're one of the biggest clubs in the world ffs!
Also, can The Guardian please stop publishing articles on how they represent the soul of London/football/immigrants/the petit bourgeois and how 'starved' their fans have been for 22 long years.

Yep hope to make more games..Went 3 home amd one away Bristol.great game. Take my boys the arsenal one as well as its a nice day out especially with a win. Just would love to have a really positive season playoffs woild be amazing while they are relatively young. Also another question is there any real glory in glory hunting its a bit like faking a laugh or a smile ?? No real joy i mean if rangers win and we are there it great all weekend. Are they just not kidding them selfs ??
WTF is that some.sort of fashion show !!!! If that happens when/if rangers go up.next season I might combust. Its shows how its a fashion statement rather than a support..maybe they will.have a shocker next year and do a spurs and then we will see. T o quote “I probably spend £200 or £300 every other month, we’ve got so many collabs out there" Thats a season ticket for me

When I think of Arsenal, I think of blokes in their 30s and 40s wearing the Arsenal shirt while out shopping with the missus. But on match day when there's a home game for them.

I insisted on the tables at my wedding - in Scotland - being QPR themed. My wife to be acquiesced and still turned up at the ceremony.
I'm not sure Paul Furlong meant anything to the guests sitting at that table but I engineered it such that two guests sat at the the table bearing the name of their then in-law, Barry Silkman .

It's been going on forever. I live in Sudbury, Suffolk and most of my mates support Man United or Liverpool! (guess which era they're from). There are quite a few that do support Ipswich (as they should). I was born in Paddington by the way and my dad, grandad and great grandad supported the R's so that's where my allegiance comes from.
