When I was at Harrow & Eton, there's no way in the world I'd have got time off to watch a game of Association Football.

My kids don't finish until end of next week!
But a lot of private schools finished 2nd July or around then I think so they would have been free to go....
And of course some kids still technically in school migjht have had a variety of sudden illnesses only cured by a flight to the US. |  |

As Myke said , long summer holidays in Ireland and back in my day there wasn’t the problem of hiked up holiday prices. They didn’t exist for kids in Ireland back in the 70’s and 80s .
Lots of parents take their kids out of school to avoid high holiday prices.
I get the kids do bugger all for the last week or so but if everyone pulled them out of school in term time , the whole system would fall apart . | | | |

My Dutch mate took his wife and 2 kids to a Holland game. Cost a pretty packet and they loved it.
I get it somewhat as I paid $300 to see the cure.
